Got my Sliders installed and front mud flaps removed. The Slider install went fairly smoothly thankfully...Aside from that rear passenger side L-bracket. Little bastard dropped into my frame and I have no way of retrieving it.

On the plus side, they are ready to rock and just in time for our trip!

If you want to keep your mudflaps, you could try getting an alignment done and having them move your caster up to 3.5 degrees or so.

If you do this, you would probably have to move the front of your fender liner forward and trim a small corner of your fender flare with a box cutter (both very easy).

If you don't mind the mud splatter, keep it as it is!

Yeah, I had my caster set to 4 degrees when I got my lift installed. So, I'm not sure, but I think these new wheels may have messed with that a bit. Once I get my 33s installed (if I could ever order them, that is.) I'll have it aligned again. Might be able to reinstall my mud flaps at that point, but, I'm used to having my vehicle splattered with mud, so, it's nothing new for me! *laughs*

I'm probably just going to go ahead and do a preemptive fender liner mod and bumper cut at some point as well. That may be next weekends project!

Still camping ! Rained all day, but it is all good, beats any day in the office. We moved to another provincial park, we are trying them all out by Lake Erie and Huron. We will be out 5 days by Lake Huron. Pretty secluded spots and private. I know the runner doesn’t work its worth in off-road capabilities these days, but we sleep in it and most importantly, we create beautiful memories !
Still drinking our home made wine, white for tonight.
    Cheers, you filthy animals!

Edit: bring in the big boys pic

The same thought came to mind! Reminded me of when I went camping with my son on a scout trip. At the first sign of rain the scoutmaster left. So, I took the reins and the troop had a great time camping in the rain. Nice setup you have there, especially the representation of refreshment.

From order to receiving was probably 2 weeks. I’m pretty happy with the ride so far, it’s been a couple weeks now and it’s nice and responsive, no more nose dive either.

My troubles continue. Vehicle started pulling to the right really hard, so, I got an appointment to get an alignment done and as usual set my caster to 4 degrees. Well, they got it to 4 degrees and it's driving much better now. Sadly, I'm somehow now slightly rubbing the Body mount on the driver's side....and my tires are stock size. :frustrated: I may well need to go back to my stock wheels at this rate.

On the plus side: I managed to get a set of 5 Kenda Klever R/Ts in 285/70r17 ordered finally.

Offset is -10. That seems to be the source of my problems.

We’re planning an extended trip to Ecuador. Probably Manta. Also like to see Quenca but just for a day or two. You going on business or pleasure? Let me know how you like it.

I had 17x9 -12 with stock tires, no rubbing at all. Put on 295/70R17s and had it aligned with 4° caster, I only rub the body mount in reverse.

I'm at a total loss, then. It's only my drivers side and I had instances today at full lock where it didn't rub at all. For all the headaches this is giving me I guess I should have just stuck with the stock wheels and tire size, because now I'm not sure if taking it off-roading during our trip is even a good idea.

On the plus side, I have found an off-road shop relatively nearby who will do the BMC, and my 285 Kendas are getting ready to ship. I think I'll just set up an appointment with them when the tires come in and have them mount and modify to fit.

    Don't sweat it. Easy fix.

Just get the BMC and you'll be good to go.

I got the BMC done when I did the 3" Toytec lift, 285/70/R17s and 17x9 wheels with a -12mm offset. I haven't been able to really take it off road just yet but so far no rubbing anywhere. I think you'll be good.

FYI - any auto body shop that welds ought to be able to do a BMC. You might need to show them a video of it though.

Maybe something else needs attention. When did it start pulling hard? Did you hit a pothole? I know not everyone's vehicle is exactly the same, but with the stock tires and -12 offset wheels, I still had plenty of space between the tire and mudflaps, with stock caster and no lift.

New tires! I only had 250 miles on the stock dunlop and decided I needed a more aggressive tire. 255/75/17 Goodyear Duratracs. They hum a little but no where near what I feared they would. With a window cracked or the radio at a average volume you dont even notice. They feel more responsive and from what I have read they will be good in the snow when it comes.

It had just started shortly after getting the new wheels installed and the tires rotated. Hadn't even had a chance to get it onto the dirt road to work and hit anything rough *laughs*. Getting the alignment done stopped that thankfully, but, that's when the rubbing on the driver's side started. That's why I'm wondering if it's something to do with these wheels, as I have never had any clearance or pulling issues at all until having these mounted.

I'm gonna set up an appointment with that shop here in the next day or so. They've already confirmed that they'll mount my tires, do the BMC and even trim the bumper if necessary to fit the 33s....It helps that they're an off-road shop right next to the dealership where I bought my 4Runner. Hell, just for grins I may even have them check my alignment again and make sure everything is kosher before I leave there.

I can hear a little more road noise and probably suspension noise when going over bumps/potholes etc. I have a sneaking suspicion that since there is now more of an opening above the tires (or the body being higher), perhaps the external noise dynamics have changed. Not unbearable or bad - just different.
