Went huckleberry picking today in Idaho, about 10 miles from a major forest fire. But, it's mostly contained and the smoke wasn't too bad. Berries were perfect and plentiful.







Did I mention it was extremely dry and dusty?



Parked at a USFS fire lookout tower in front of the coolest outhouse ever...

It flew off!!! Loc-tite?

 

It's a Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform, the 60"x49" size, mounted on Rhino Rack CXB legs to the factory rails.

It did fly off, but that was my own fault for not checking the bolts before heading out. Plus, I had it mounted on CXB legs, which others have run but it leaves a small gab between the grip of the leg and the inner edge of the rail. I will be remounting it on the SX100 legs, which are a better fit. And yes, will use loc-tite too.

 

At Sam Houston State Park while scoping out some places to try some light overland camping runs. Saw someone on the trail in a nicely rigged out white 5th gen, taking in some Sunday rays. Was it you?

Orvis ClearWater 10 foot, 3 wt with a Ross reel. I'm still getting used to it, but it worked pretty well with the wind today. Might be a wee bit light for some of the trout in the S. Platte though.

None yesterday. Had a half dozen strikes, but none in the net. Barbless hooks make it a little tougher. I'm going back this AM.
