Is the made in China thing a real thing? I tried to keep up with that thread and it seemed that some production has oved to China, but not all. I should go back and re-read to see if there are valid concerns about production in China vs, for example, Thailand.

I'm not sure, the falkens were not on my short list so I didn't look into them much. Just going off what I read and hear about, I wouldn't trust any tire from china. My two I had narrowed it down to was the toyo at3 and the general atx. The Toyos were on national backorder and the atx was available with great reviews so that's what I went with.

400 miles and one off-road trail was enough on the stock tires, I put some Toyo AT3s on my Venture today. Just over $900 from Discount Tire.

Ok, last question as I have settled on the Wildpeaks and it has to do with balancing. A local shop here uses spin balancing while I have read about force or road force balancing being a preferred method with these Falkens. Can anyone provide some insight here regarding whether I ought to get the tires from a shop that does road force balancing vs a shop that uses spin balancing? Thanks.

I think it comes down to the shop, ir the person doing the balancing. I don't think my shop does road force balancing, but they have gotten everything I have them do perfect.

Just use the shop you like. If they can't get it right, then maybe try another place.

Ok, settled on the stock-sized Falken Wildpeaks from Discount Tire. Gonna cost $850 and change. Hopefully they'll buy my stockers for $100-$150.

The Hillsboro DT idincated that they would make me an offer in the morning. Im hoping for at least $100 if not $150. I dont want to deal with selling them myself.

Those stt pro a supposed to be good tires. I read a lot of good reviews on those to, they were just to aggressive for my needs.

Long back they only offered me $25 per tire when the tires are almost new. Never asked them again. Facebook Market place and Craigslist is your friend. I always sell my stock tires. I thought I don't have to do that for my TRD Pro but the stock tires were bad, sold them too.

My 2cents. I put on the Falken made in Thailand tires 18 months ago and have had no issues on or off road. My dealer also got me $400 bucks for the new take offs, (fellow veteran)!

Do you recall how much you paid for them? Getting last minute second thoughts that $850 is too much.

I think certificates for the Falkens are $26 each. I'll double check.

I want to say Discount Tire offered me $75 a tire for my OEM Bridgestone's. I listed them on Facebook market place and traded them to a guy for a Winchester 30/30 Lever Action Rifle.

Ha ha.. That's a nice deal.. I'm scared for that kind of trades. I only buy from my trusted shop so I know they are registered properly..:D

There is no firearms registration in Missouri and no private sale paper keeping requirement.
Plus this guy had a real FB account - not some bogus burner account.

I believe around $800 minus the bonus from the takeoffs.

DT offered $15 per for the take offs, lols. But offered their hazard protection for $47 total after I asked a few questions and hemmed and hawed. I'll sell the Duellers myself and hope to get $150.

It's not that over the top. Mine were $196 per tire, delivered, then tax.

It is more of a bother but I have had much better return on effort by selling them myself. Good luck!

I just bought Toyo Open Country AT3's for my Venture.
I got them through Discount Tire Direct for $600 before tax. 4 tires in P265/70/17, SL load rating.
That's just tires with free shipping.
Had them installed at the local Discount tire for $120.
The stock tires had just over 7k miles and I got $160 for them from the DT store leaving me with a $40 credit for my next purchase.

So how this happened. I'm signed up with BOTH Discount Tire (Retail Stores) and Discount Tire Direct (internet store).
DTD sent me an email for $110 off Toyo tires. DT gives a 5% discount for club members.
If you talk to either DTD or DT they will usually give you both discounts.
So I asked the DTD person to give me the $110 they offered plus the 5% the local store offers and they gave me both.
At the store i asked the manager if he would have done the same, as in give me the DTD discount plus the local 5% club discount and he said that he would have done that.

Nitto terra grappler g-2 is great all-round tire. Been impressed with it on my tundra and Jeep. I am going with them on 4Runner also. Performed really good in recent snow and ice storm in Texas, was able to drive 46 miles on snowy and icy roads to work every day in my 2wd tundra.

Nitto Terra Grappler G2 are not 3 peak mountain snow flake rated tires. Suggest not to run them in winter.
