I bought a 2021 TRD Pro Off Road Premium in black about a month ago. Just noticed paint exposed and bubbling on the plastic piece right below the hood. Or more accurately, the piece above the grille. It's two small spots, one slightly smaller than a quarter and the other about the size of a dime.

Do I bother trying to get the dealer to take care of it? Selling dealer is about 40 minutes away. Or should I just fix it myself? I'm inclined to tackle myself, but I wondered if folks thought the dealer is on the hook. As always, thanks for the input.

I’d bring it to a dealer you paid a lot of money for a vehicle and it should not have those issues

My dealer is about the same distance away. If I had that problem on a new rig, it most certainly would be at the dealership to get corrected. If for no other reason, it will get documented in their system (just in case other things start happening to your finish). That is, unless you were hit by something that matched those same dimensions. ;)

Ha. I live near Baltimore City. It wouldn't be the first time things were thrown at a vehicle.

I hear ya. Here in Houston, we get our share of highway fodder. My most memorable ones were an upright vacuum cleaner standing perfectly in the lane of freeway traffic - and a shopping cart in lane 3 of the freeway.

Hope all works out for your paint issue.

Bring it to the attention of the dealer, if they want to be helpful and decent they will probably take care of it. If not, maybe check into a 'wrap' for the front end, I know it be money out of your pocket, but it's an option.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I contacted the sales guy and he asked me to bring it in to take a look. I won't be able to get down there for another week, but I'll post up with further developments.
