Does anyone know what are these numbers on the transfer case? Do they have any meaning?

I have no clue, but I'll throw a theory out there (based on other transfer cases that I've worked with). It may be a "point of manufacture" code which denotes which location (or vendor) built the unit.

Pro has a cable actuated J shifter, the Limited has a center diff lock/AWD type setup with the dial switch, and the SR5 has part time 4WD with the dial type selector? Looks like different actuators in the Limited and SR5 and the PRO is sans actuator.

Thats assuming all the numbers are constant for all trims? Just my shot in the dark...

To be honest I don't know is TRD ORP & Pro has cable or not but they have same J pattern 4wd selector.

Limited has a 4wd select knob with 4 high with center diff free & lock and a 4 low.

Yes SR5 has a part time 4WD select knob with 2 high, 4 high and 4 low.

Really interested to see what these numbers are and if each of these have any difference on final drive.

Also going to check my wife’s venture to through something else into the mix

Don't worry, skid plates do not cover it. Look from driver rear tire.

Those numbers probably be just part numbers? The transfer case looks exactly same except SR5 and Limited has different electronic actuator (I assume, sorry I'm not a mech guy) looking things bolt on to the transfer case?
Wonder if we have any Toyota Techs on the forum to explain.

21’ TRD OR has 396. J shifter of course.

They are the same with the exception of the Limited I think. The center diff lock may require different internals. Same case perhaps…

Its interesting when I search online the transfer case on Lexus GX460 looks same as the one on 4Runner Limited.

They share the same chassis and a lot of parts. I think it’s the 460…but yeah.
