Thank you for that information! I think I should be fine, as I always connect to the tire first, and disconnect with the compressor off. It's good to know! I'm not actually sure which type I have.

I learn new things all of the time here. I'm glad I didn't learn that one the hard way!

Eh. Flipping the switch isn't too hard.

I did consider using a pressure regulator or something, but I was mainly just trying to avoid walking back and forth to check the pressure and turn the compressor on and off.

Haha! What's funny about this is that I had and sold a Yakima Off-grid basket. Then, I was going to build a rack. But, I remembered how nice it was to be able to keep things in the basket and still put the Kayak on top. So, here I am again.

I didn't like the way the sides of the Off-grid basket were rounded off, so I figured I would try this instead. Hopefully it's perfect. Otherwise, look for it in the B/S/T section in a few months.

Got the new rack on and hung out with some friends this past weekend!

    20210710_160233_HDR_(1).jpg

All cleaned up. I like this basket more than the Off-grid. I need to get the Hi-Lift back up there, and figure out the best way to attach the Kayak. But, it's up there at least.

    20210712_202331.jpg

Oh, and I'm thinking of adding a set of chase lights up there as well. The dry gravel roads up north helped me with that decision.

How much lift did you ultimately go with after it was all said and done

2.4" front, 1.5" rear. This is just based on what Bilstein advertised and what setting was chosen on the coilovers. I never measured to verify. I'm still loving the stance.

Niiice. How much weight can you put on that rack? Looks like it's mounted to the OEM crossbars.

Oh, and which one is it? Looks like the Load Warrior, but longer...

It is, for now. I'm going to change that this weekend probably. I just wanted to get it on there quick for last weekend. I'm not sure what the capacity will actually be, but I'm not going to be putting a lot of weight up there anyway.

Got the fuel pump recall performed last week. I think they screwed something up.

Haha! It's getting towed to the dealership that allegedly performed the replacement. I have a big trip on Thursday. Hope they can square it away quickly.

The only notification I’ve received on mine has been license plates renewal. Hope it stays that way!

All of this fuel pump stuff made me forget.. I removed the factory roof cross bars and mounted the MegaWarrior to the side-rails with some hardware.

I bought some pre-drilled angle channel, cut it to length, and painted it black. I slid some 3/8" carriage bolts into the side-rails, and bolted the steel to it. I used large, extra thick rubber washers in between to protect the rails from getting scratched.

    20210718_085041_HDR_(1).jpg

I used some small U-bolts to attach the basket to the steel.

    20210718_094544_HDR.jpg

It's rock solid! I feel much better about putting the Kayak up there now. It sits a touch lower than it did on the side-rails as well, which I like.

That looks stout! Nice clean solution.

Regarding the service dept visit, I sure hope they square you away before your trip. For the dealers sake, I ‘d hate for them to have give you loaner for your trip. Lol. Something tells me it wouldn’t come back quite in the same condition haha
