Just curious how long some of the recent 4runners have been at port before being delivered to the dealership. I've seen some people say they sat at port for a while (1+ months), but that was back when things were iffy because of the virus. Things seem to be picking back up now, so is the 10-14 days from getting off the boat to the dealership back to being the norm?

Getting pretty antsy now, sales guy hasn't seen an update since mine got off the boat on 6/30. Really hoping for a mid-July delivery.

Thanks! I figured things were still pretty iffy. I'll just keep trying to stay patient lol

Between port and taking delivery of my 4runner it was 13 days. However I live near a port. Not sure if that factored into the time. This was in February/March

That's what I'm hoping for with ours. We're in Ohio, so definitely not near a port. With how things have gone so far with ours, I'm expecting to wait longer than that. Time will tell

I'm in St. Louis, MO - also the middle of the Country. Mine reached Port 0n March 30. Then took 5-6 weeks after that .

Did it sit in port for a while before it started its shipping journey? Or was it a little bit of a combination of both port and shipping that caused it to take a while?

The port congestion is not apparently affecting RORO vehicle carriers, presumably because they need very little in the way of support to unload, aside from an army of drivers.

I tracked the ship with my vehicle arrive real-time at Long Beach on 7/6 and it proceeded directly to berth at the Toyota Logistics dock for unloading, exactly on schedule. A day later it was outbound from Long Beach to Toyota’s facility in Oakland.

Nevertheless, it will still take almost 3 weeks for my vehicle to get from Long Beach to my dealer in Denver.

Yours will have to travel all the way from Portland - not sure why but the Toyota document I saw shows Portland as the port for Ohio and NY & PA come in to NJ.

Curious how you were able to track yours? Mine apparently docks in NY/NJ tomorrow, though last month when I asked the dealer if there was a way for me to track it’s journey, he looked at me sideways.

All the dealer told me was an arrival date. I had to figure out the port on my own via a Toyota Fleet Management PDF I found online. I then found websites for tracking cargo and they can usually list the inbound ships, by type, for any given port. Look for a vehicle carrier ship. In my case there was only one arriving at Long Beach anywhere close to my arrival date, and it was listed as departing Japan on the same date my dealer said my vehicle shipped, so I was pretty sure I had found the right one.

Took a bit of internet sleuthing but it was pretty interesting.

Mine was built 4/27 and arrived in Michigan June 8. It cleared customs fairly quickly and was put on rail to Chicago. My dealer had access to a system and could tell me where it was anytime. I recall one time he said hey it’s in Montana and spent the Memorial Day weekend in Chicago. Hang in there I get the anticipation. It’s worth the wait

Only 9 days after the ship docked (New Century II) in Jacksonville, FL until it arrived at the dealership in Western North Carolina. Once the ship left Jacksonville, it went up north to New Jersey, then back to Japan.

I was following the ship since it left Japan in May.

I think it also depends on what options you are having installed at the port.

Mine hit the port on 6/8 and I got delivery on 6/29. I’m in Indianapolis so not sure where you are and time from port to dealership for you.

Don't know. The Dealer just told me it would be 4-6 weeks after it hit Port (Portland). I got a call from the Dealer during the 5th week that it arrived. From reading, that seems to be be the typical time line for vehicles heading to the Midwest .

I'm not sure the timeline to be exact as I don't know when mine reached the port. However my vehicle, SR5 with a few options was built on June 25. My dealer tells me its in route and should be ready for pickup July 20th and I'm in Michigan.

Sorry everyone, I was out for a few days. Our 4runner landed in port on 6/30. Dealer called me on Saturday to tell me they're expecting to receive it between 7/27 and 8/2. That would make it roughly a month from port to the dealership for us.

Mine arrived at port on 7/12, my dealer in SoCal said maybe this coming week for delivery. The suspense is killing me

Mine arrived in port (NJ) on the 13th and I got the call yesterday that it should be arriving at the dealership (just outside of Boston) on Tuesday. My wife is so f’cking sick of hearing about this over the past two months.

Selling my 2017 SR5 last month and having one car over that span with our crazy schedules added to it all, though well worth it.

Per our dealer, the 4runner we put a deposit on arrived at the Portland, Ore. port on 6/24. As of the last update we got this past week, it's still there lol. The dealer has been upfront from the start they don't know when it will arrive in Ky. so it's still got to cross the country. I think we'll be waiting a while.

Got an email from my dealer saying the port of portland container ships are backed up because of employee shortages. There arent enough people to unload them with any speed or efficiency. Mine has been sitting out there since 7/12 too with no eta on delivery date. Ill update again if they send me anything. Dealer said maybe this week since they are 30 mins from the port.

Unless they are waiting for the parts they install at port, the container ships are separate from the RORO ships. Hopefully whatever the possible delays are, they won’t be long lasting.

I can only deduce that its the port that the runners are offloaded to since mine has zero port installed accessories.

At least u were given a timeframe. Just one more day! Congrats! I’m guessing mine was on the same ship but I still haven’t heard any news. Mine left Japan on 6/13 & was scheduled to hit port on 7/13. I haven’t really received any updates as far as whether it even got to port on time or what dates it should be arriving at the dealership. I’m in Massachusetts too. Every day I’m checking my email & paying attention to my phone hoping for an update.

Can't get the ship name but mine is due to LA on the 29th, hopefully not a long turn-around to dealer from there.

Mine is due at port on 7/21. Hopefully it does not sit too long at the port of Long Beach.

Anyone have access to the internal Toyota tracking? My dealer wont show me or screenshot the page. Long beach may be similar to Portland with delays, maybe a manpower issue? Also, LA county is reinstating Covid precautions, as of now just masks indoors, but if they start shutting things down again...................
