I can’t imagine running a tent/rack + gear + passengers on a 3rd gen Tacoma if you do a lot of hours at 65+ mph. I know many guys do it without complaint. But having owned a 3rd gen myself, I wouldn’t want to.

I was going to do it, until my tent order got cancelled by the company. So in shopping for another RTT, we decided that a bigger roof would make us more comfortable putting a longer tent on. Had the company let the tent me have the tent, we would have driven from Maine to Utah in June in the taco.

Consumers demanding more and more gadgets are making cars more and more expensive and less and less reliable. I like 4runners because they do their core job really well. The more complex and loaded they get, the further they are from what has made them special.

That Blind Spot + Rear Cross Traffic Alert is huge, might trade mine and get one of the '22s.

Those features are the only reason I didn't get a '21 after selling my '16 a month ago. After having them on my wife's RAV4 it'd be hard for me to buy a new vehicle without them. They are incredibly useful as nobody sees everything every time while driving. Even self driving Tesla's screw up.

I heard the same. Hopefully it does only go to one small trim level.

I also think I’ve seen this, which I’m not sure will encourage me to get a new runner.

The other thing too is that they might even completely switch out the side mirrors and add in the turn signal indicator and even a puddle light. Seriously considering but have to wait and talk to the district manager to see if he has more information that's concrete

You can turn off the TSS features through the dash menu.

I know, I have them off. I just wouldn't want any extras added beyond what I have now.
