Plastic circle at front passenger's feet

Just noticed this plastic thing circled in the photos. No clue what to search the forum one to find out. Any insight appreciated. Sorry and thank you.

Hey hey mate,

That holds the kick panels down to the floor so it doesn't snap out. They are on both sides.

It’s basically a plastic nut, there’s a metal stud that sticks out and that goes on it. You have the same thing on the other side as well.

He got a call about his car's warranty being expired and the nice gentleman from overseas was willing to help him fix it simply by getting access to his computer remotely. He clearly left some stuff behind.
