In then end though a Jeep is still a FIAT product that will depreciate like crazy and I have no interest in them as I may do a few trails but I don't need or want a jacked up rock crawler.

I honestly had very few gripes about my '16 SR5. The only reason I sold it so that I could get a '22 ORP is that I wanted the safety features offered on the newer models as well as the radar cruise after my wife got a '19 RAV4 XLE Premium.

I wish it had the V8 that the GX 460 has, however, I can live without it.

I just want to be able to order a new ORP so that I can hopefully get it by the end of the year.

    You aren't wrong.

I really don't give a crap about the "Sport" model of the 4Runner. It's basically a SR5 with a different body panel kit and wheels.

I am exited about the possibility of Army Green for the Off-Road/Off-Road Premium models as well as the BSM/Rear Cross-Traffic Alerts though as both are extremely useful in every day driving.

I also don't really care about the Multi-Terrain/Panoramic Monitor offerings as they are just more things to break that I won't ever use. A basic backup camera to line up with a trailer hitch is fine with me.

It's remarkable how many useful features have been withheld from 4Runner buyers despite those features appearing on your average $20-25K econobox. Not that any of them are necessary. And of course we buy the 4R anyway because its combination of reliability/durability/longevity and utility is unmatched by almost any other vehicle. But when you're paying $40-50K you'd kinda think that by MY 2018, 19 or 20 things like tire pressure displays and LED headlights would be standard.

I know I'm happy to be able to see each individual tire pressure -- including for the spare mounted under the truck -- on my 2020 Limited. But it's kinda crazy to have to spend Limited money to get those sorts of features. Likewise with power seats with memory, dual climate control with temp settings, or being able to raise and lower the rear window from buttons on the hatch. I'm still amazed at the lack of LED headlights on a 2020 that stickered for almost 50K. But at least it has the other stuff that I'd consider bare minimum normal in that price range. (PS I can raise and lower the hatch myself, thank you very much  )

Tire pressure was available starting in '20. It's on my SR5P. Holy shit that pic is huge lol

Welp, that's a big nothing. Looks like I got no real reason to upgrade to a '22 Pro.

ps - thx for posting though OP.

Yeah it's all about what you want.

The BSM and Rear Cross Traffic Alerts are enough to make me wait for a '22.

I'd also like Army Green if getting an ORP but I may still get a MGM Pro instead.

Yeah, I hear 'ya. But, to me, BSM and RCTA are utterly meaningless and worthless.

I’m waiting to see what models come in the green, that will guide my decision to move from the Tacoma to another runner.

OK - what exactly is a “rear occupancy alert feature”?

Is it just a kid to repeatedly kick the back of my seat?

If it’s like what’s on rav4 prime, it’s a message to tell you to check the back seat when you shut the car off. My kids laugh, as every time I always point out something besides them is in the back for me to get and pretend they aren’t there. It’s not often you can make a 17 and 15 year old laugh.

They are so worth it. I'm mad to give them up for my new Pro

Interested to see what they do with the screen. If it is a much bigger redesigned screen I'm gonna be pissed lol

Except that Wranglers have insane resale on par with Tacoma/4Runner.

In the OP’s post… I read that as the Sport will come in AG and LR. Not necessarily the off road.

Similar to how the Tacoma offered AG and Cement in a special package this year. But not in the off-road models.

I'm afraid that's what's going to happen. They've already done that with the Trail Edition.

I'll either be sticking with a Barcelona Red ORP or maybe a MGM Pro in that case.

I wish they'd just announce everything instead of these little tidbits as it's really annoying. I know they'll never do that but I wish they would.

I hope to have a bunch of AG choices this year, my taco would be green if they offered that color when I ordered in 2016. The wife has already agreed/understands, that I want a green. But I think I really want off road.

Same boat here. I’d like an off road AG or Lunar Rock. But I’m afraid they’re not gonna offer them in the OR. Just the special editions that are basically a sooped up SR5.

Kinda like they did with the AG and cement 4runners this year that came with dark gray off road wheels, a roof basket, and a cooler lol. It’s just a SR5 with some appearance mods.

That's my guess as well since they have a history of doing it. As much as I want Army Green I want the ORP more so I'll just go with Barcelona Red if that happens.

Yeah and I read here that the AG and LR are showing up as choices in the dealer systems for ordering 2022’s. Everyone got excited, thinking they are off-roads (and maybe they’re even listed as off roads?). But I think we better cool our jets until confirmed.

I check the Toyota web site daily waiting for the 22 runner build. I think august 2016 was when I ordered my 17 taco, so I’m hoping soon we will all the info to make some decisions. We want to get a roof top tent, but have decided to wait as I am lining the idea of one on the roof or a runner rather than over the 5 foot bed of the truck.

Toyota hates Lunar Rock and Army Green PRO owners haha

Anyone know if the 2022 model year is the last for this gen 4R?

The first thing I do every morning is a Google search and a YouTube search for 2022 4Runner posts in the last day.

It's only been about a month since I sold my '16 SR5 and it's going to seem like an eternity before I get my '22 :-(

The standard TRD Pro panoramic and multi-terrain monitor systems are really pissing me off as a '21 owner. I can't help but feel like this would have been so easy to include earlier.

And this new TRD Sport trim is just dumb. How is any TRD 4Runner 4x2?
