I’m on my second HVAC blower fan, because it’s already blowing weak after replacing it 4 years ago.

Anyone else had to replace theirs every 4 years?

Just curious, do you leave your AC on full blast after you turn off your car? I do remember on my old 2011 that I had a very weak blower though, and it would rattle. Major difference in my 2018. Possible early 5th Gen issue?

Yep. I would leave it on full blast for the heat in Colorado, AC in the summer, and AC now that I live in the Bay Area.

I’ve read that doing so can shorten the lifespan of the motor as it goes full blast as soon as it gets power. Just a thought. But my old 5th Gen had a crappy blower motor too so who knows.

Actually one of the first things I noticed with my new truck. I thought they were all like that....might just have the service tech check that out, along with the woefully adjusted parking brake, at the next oil change.

I would hope that after replacing it it would be a newer part that won’t go out. I have a second one in the mail, hopefully this one lasts longer.

I was also wondering if keeping the passenger side vent closed and keeping the rear vent closed puts a strain on the motor?

May be just me, but I got into the habit of shutting everything off, radio, blower motor, and any electrical accessory that does not re-set to the “off” position....BEFORE I kill the ignition... Do this on all my vehicles

I turn off my fan as well. Radio I leave on.

Just a habit I was taught so I keep doing it.

My wife does that, shuts everything down. She has remote start in her Tahoe so I'm always like don't do that so we can start the car to cool down or heat up before using it. lol Yes I should have better things to bitch about.
