Steering and engine vibration?

    Great news... except for the taliban part. (I think they prefer the pickup trucks with bed mounted machinegun. )

    Congratulations! Maybe a less cringeworthy example of the prowess demonstrated by toyota 4x4s in battle would be the “Toyota War”. This was a war between Chad and invading Lybia.     nother interesting detail is that Chad’s elderly “president” recently died in battle against a rebel group. Both sides of the conflict have actual armored vehicles, including modern stuff, but often prefer to fight with their “technicals” aka Hiluxes

    So go forth knowing you own a battle tested vehicle. If you find little annoyances here and there, just think of what it would drive like with a twin anti-aircraft turret mounted in the back seat lol :)

    only issue being, they take after the Ford Ranger when they hit an IED. Completely turn themselves inside out. Bit of a mess.

    Well that is pretty cool! Usually it’s Prados abroad. I dont think Ive ever seen a straight up American 4runner working for the UN.

    Well now, I understand the BOF, hydraulic steering but my 4th gens had the same and no vibration in the steering wheel. My 2021 at about 10K I started to notice a vibration - more like a buzz with no sound kind of feel - in the steering wheel. Brought it in at 14K, service manager and a service advisor took it for a ride and confirmed - at acceleration and especially between 2200 and 2400 RPMs. Confirmed it's there. Not a shake or a shimmy - she drives smooth otherwise. They said they drove another '21 on the lot and it did the same. Still doesn't make it right. Really need your thoughts and experience on this one. Motor mounts, driveshaft unbalanced? Otherwise, she's a dream!

    This is very similar to what I have been experiencing. It’s been driving my nuts, but only because I was/am convinced it cannot be normal. I feel a buzzing in the floor, gas pedal, and at higher speeds in the steering wheel. Sometimes it’s more pronounced than other times. Goes away completely when I coast. Dealership and local shop says everything is fine. I haven’t found many posts discussing this, which is why I assumed it was not normal.

    OK! Now, on to finding a fix! I'm going to get some more info from our friends on this site and then call Toyota Customer Care! They helped my dealership fix the front diff & axle problem!

    You're not experiencing this only on de-acceleration around 42 - 32 and goes away in 4WD - classic needle bearing problem - well known.

    My understanding is that the common needle bearing issue doesn’t affect the Limited, because the Limited is AWD. Needle bearing vibration only affects RWD and goes away when 4H is engaged. I just had the driveshaft lubricated, both dif oils changed, and transfer case fluid changed a week or two ago. Didn’t change anything. Wheels balanced and aligned twice this year. Actually dropped my car this morning at NTB for a third time. Read this post after. Having them check the wheels for play in case it’s a wheel bearing issue. If none of this works, going to take off the front drive shaft and see if it goes away, then the back. If none of that works, then I’m basically down to the axle or differential has an internal issue. I’m running out of ideas after that. Of course, what I’m feeling could be normal, but I have a hard time believing that. I had an RX350 AWD and a Subaru Legacy in years past, and I don’t remember any vibrations with those.

    Right - no needle bearing issues on the Limited AWD. Broken belt in a tire? Any one else experience this? Have a "fix?" My gut says drive shaft out of balance or just a bit of play in the U-joint(s). But I'd rather someone more knowledgeable than I, and/or had already "chased" this chime in!
