2021 4Runner Limited

I am seriously leaning towards purchasing a 4Runner to be used as a daily driver. My first question is how does the 4Runner perform at Highway speeds in regards to handling? And my second question is does anyone here use their 4Runner as a daily driver and have and tips or lessons learned? I am aware of the fuel consumption rate associated with the vehicle. Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Handles fine, especially with several adults. I daily drive mine and love it.

 

I have an 18 Limited. It's my daily driver. I have a car seat in the back for my daughter. Plenty of cargo/storage space.
Rides great on the highway, good visibility, not as "fast" or "quick" as a car but hit the gas and she'll move fine.
Have 45k on the odometer, no problems thus far. Great in the snow/beach driving.
Average 18.5MPG (whatever, didn't buy a ~4800lb SUV expecting good gas mileage)

I have a '19 Limited. Will be doing springs/shocks, and front end bumper and losing auto running boards in about a year. Love the leather, dual climate, cooled seats, solid ride, AWD, and the road manners of this heavy SUV. Gas mileage? Not a big concern. Best of all, no Toyota (non) Sense either. I also got it right before our state shutdown in March 20, a steal of a deal and was the dealership Managers personal car. You will be very pleased.

 

My 2019 is lifted (for the looks) with 285/70R17 tires. This is our city car & I have no complaints with mpg. I think I have good control on my right leg..Not driven in traffic though..

 

erfer1 what kind of spring and shock setup are you upgrading to and what is your rationale for upgrading? Is this to support a lift kit or future off-roading ventures?

 

I am looking at Toytech 2-3". I do some off-roading now, mostly desert and up in the Gila. I will be switching my wheels to 17's and I do plan to further my off roading. my last wheeler was an 03 Disco, had a 2" lift, 33"'s and full armor underneath. I don't really care for the X-reas, although it does improve the handling manners on the road. I don't mind the desert pin stripes, I got this Limited for the creature comforts, (I am old), and the incredible deal I was offered by the dealership knowing that the next day was shut down for the state. I know just about anything on it can be modified. Our long trip vehicle is a 16 Avalon, and the runner is a big pig compared to it.
