Yakama Road Warrier Basket Removal

I decided to remove the basket from my 2021 Venture, but 2 of the 4 clips look to have what looks like a lock over the twist off plastic nuts. It could be a slot screw driver, but it won't budge. Any ideas?

Mine came with locking covers to prevent theft in the mall parking lot. Keys were in the glovebox on delivery. If you don't have the keys, I'd check back with your dealer to start with, then maybe Yakima if the dealer is no help.

In the short term, while figuring out the missing key situation, you can remove the cross rails and basket as one assembly by sliding the cross rails out of the side rails at the back.

You will need to unclasp the plastic end caps on each end using a thin screwdriver and twisting the caps towards the outside of the truck.

 

I should have read the paper manuals, instead of online. I found the keys in the booklet. Thanks for your help. Will be putting this for sale.

 

When you sell it, it is actually a Yakima "Megawarrior" basket. You said "Road Warrior" (not a thing), probably meaning "Load Warrior" (a thing), but it's actually the next size up from the Loadwarrior so it's value is more...

 

Glad you found the key cuz I’m not sure how you would have gotten it off. I recently sold the same basket off of my venture $375. Used OfferUp for the first time and was pretty happy with how it all turned

 

It was a Mega Warrior Basket. I called the dealership, they had no idea where the key would be, but I found it stuffed in the middle of the owner's manual. Good to know where they put these.
