If you were on the Keeweenaw / in Houghton, did you go out to the abandoned rocket range (road in the link on your first post)?? Fun little 4wd excursion to about the prettiest campsite I've ever been to in my life...

 

I was there three weeks ago. Love it so much

 

I dig the skiing and mountain biking, but what is a Master Blanket Fort Builder?

 

hahaha! i've perfected the blanket fort. my kids and i have build a blanket fort structure system with sprinkler pipe and different kinds of elbows.

 

MeefZah--We did not go to the rocket range, but instead to the High Rock Bay campsite area. The "road" splits. Yes it is beautiful! Probably you know this place too--it's sort of informal, fire rings but no water or toilets. We didn't camp because the port-a-potty we ordered for delivery at Marquette Walmart did not show up! That road is amazing, hard to describe. Took us over an hour to go 7 1/2 miles. It had recently rained. About a mile and a half from the end we met a guy in a Silverado on his return, asked him how much farther? He said 10 minutes. (He was way off). "There will be BIG PUDDLES, but they all have hard bottoms." LOL he was right on that! They were huge, long, deep, we counted 22 of them. This is the first one, rather modest, after that we did not stop to take pictures. Our 2013 Limited took it all in stride.

 

Nice. I love that area. I've only ever been there on motorcycle though!

 

I have not been up to the Copper Harbor area since I was 16 or 18. I remember lake near town and catching brook trout so easily. It was like blue gill fishing with a bobber and night crawler. Definitely God's country

We’ve been hunting these trains for almost two years now and finally got a tip from an Instagram follower.

we will definitely be exploring more of the trails around this area in the coming weeks and hopefully find a few camping spots along the way.

Went off-roading this past week in brown mountain OHV trail here in North Carolina…

It was nothing challenging but it was nice (except for almost running over dirt bikes who fly down those trails). Be careful!!!

Edit: Pismo State Beach in CA for anyone wondering. Only $5 for all day use. I think $10 for overnight camping but don't quote me on that lol

Love exploring pisgah. I hate they closed the area around max patch. That little stream that flows down there has some pretty awesome camping spots

 

How do you like the Hitchfire? Does it rattle when you’re on the highway?

 

Nice! Looks like everyone is going down to Pismo, I need to get down there myself before the end of summer.

 

It's great used it for the first time today. Went on a 4 hour drive on the highway today, no rattle whatsoever that I heard. The hitch pin screws in to eliminate rattle. It has a super tight fit if you tighten the pin all the way down

 

But its a hell of a good workout and the view from the top is rewarding! I also work in wind

 

What do you think of the Ironman awning? Did you by chance buy their awning quick release hooks?

 

I really like my Ironman. But will be ordering a 270* awning in the near future for more coverage.

 

I like the ironman awning it seems to be high quality. The led light strip is a nice touch. I got the smallest one since I have a 3/4 roof rack. Easy set up and tear down. I did not get the quick release brackets. Got mine on sale for pretty cheap. Just wait to get one until they have a sale, there seems to be one all the time lol
