Good video, I like seeing how you reason through things. Will be installing after market struts on mine, so was interested to see how you deal with KDSS.

You will be fine at 3”. And keep in mind that you suspension will settle after a few weeks.

Been running a 3" Ironman Foam Cell Pro Stage 2 + KDSS for over 5,000 miles with zero issues. I've off-roaded it plenty. Zero issues. Been on overlanding trips with many configurations of passengers and cargo. Zero issues. Maybe issues will crop up later? It's possible, but so far, so good.

Yours looks adjustable. Compared to runner fans.

Did you measure before and after?

Pretty sure tire size does not affect CV angle.

Then you must’ve bought a well broken in suspension lol. Any spring will settle some after install. Unless your pre-install preload is far exceeding the weight on the springs to where putting it under constant load (after it’s been installed and vehicle on the ground) was negligent difference (a very heavy duty spring will have similar effect) Or you’ve got a well worn in spring installed.

My inronman FCPs did settle by about 1/4”over the course of 3 weeks as compared to after just installed (and post alignment).

You are correct. Cv angle is determined by the relation of transfer case output to the center of the wheel hub. Putting smaller or taller tires will not change how compressed the suspension is - hence angle will remain same. Installing stiffer and longer springs will push your control arm down more in relation to the output on the transfer case - which gives you greater cv angles.
Installing a taller tire does not compress your suspension any more or less - so cv angle will be unaffected.
The effect that will be apparent after installing taller tire is overall lift of the vehicle as measured from the frame to the ground. That is your “total lift”. Tires + suspension lift = total ground clearance increase.

Question: when you install your new shocks & coils; Did you adjust your KDSS to allow it to level out? … See Toyota Owners Manual regarding adjusting. Reason: Seems like I read on the forum about passenger side leaning a bit or sags downward on that side of the vehicle.

I had 3/4” lean to the passenger side on my GX460 with KDSS. I too have the Ironman stage 2 lift. I corrected the lean with Ironman 20mm rear coil spacer and toytec 1/4” front strut spacers. All is leveled now and it’s been 6 months with several off road trips with no issues.

@DrewMan when i first installed ironman 4x4 , yes it did lean down , i got passenger side 4 inch lift and driver side 3.1 , and when i sit on driver seat i saw it pushed my 4runner down pretty visible lean , after 2 weeks ( i do not drive a lot ) everything get normal , both sides ( driver + passenger ) i was getting 3.1 , i talked to Iron Man and they send me second set , which i installed in this video , these set of shocks did not give me any lean at all .
i did not adjust KDSS at all .
i will closely monitor soon to see did ironman did something on the driver site shock system .
because they did mentioned on the box , driver site and passenger side

Thanks for the feedback; which series of Ironman Lift Kit or just shocks did you chose? … just curious

2.5 lift performance load (0-110LB) Front
2 Lift Performance load (0-660lb) rear
i am getting 3inch lift due to no winch or bumper , i am planing to bring the lift down to 2 inch or 2.5 because of rough ride and CV excel angle .

Hello, I order the same Kit you have. Ideally, I will get the same look as yours so I'm curious to know if you made any changes to the struts or did just installed as they came out of the box?

I have only tightened the setscrews on the adjustment rings. I asked to have it set to 2" front because I wanted to maintain that slight factory rake.

Need some help. So I ordered the foam cell pro stage 2, 2.5" front performance springs, and the only option was the 2" rear coil performance springs. I Was wondering if this was going to give my vehicle a leveled look or if the rear was going to be too high? I'm looking to get a slight rake in the rear when I have it installed.
