    Unfortunately, the certificates aren’t transferable outside of North Carolina.

    Understood. For you, that’s true. However, only North Carolina allows (requires Discount to allow) transfer of certificate from the original owner. When someone else tries to redeem your certificate, they’ll be out of luck. However, since the certificates are void, the factory warranty (which Discount takes from you when you buy the certificates) would probably be valid again to the new owner.

    I really don't know what your vested interest is in this thread trying to say the certificates are no good. I've owned way to many cars/trucks and always buy new tires for them and always buy from discount tire. I've sold every single set either forum or craigslist and many of us met at discount tire and they install them on the buyers car covered under the certs. I've sold to a forum member in Michigan and we keep in touch, his discount tire in Michigan has zero problems honoring the certificates.
