I am thinking of getting a dash cam and was wondering if there are any recommendations
out there (without causing a cam war). Can't hard wire it in (no tools or aptitude for that)
so install should be relatively simple, if possible. Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

I use a BlackVue DR650. It is a two camera system. You can point one out the windshield and the secondary camera can be put where ever you want. They also make 1 channel systems too. I like the fact that you can get one that has a different type of power setup that is designed for higher heat situations. I got mine from the dashcam store.

Thanks, this one is on my radar list. Do you hard wire it in or are you using the lighter outlet?

I probably should of asked this before, but do people usually hard wire them in or do they use the lighter outlet?
There is one at the back of the 07 Rnr that I was thinking I could plug it into.

I use mine in the lighter outlet. When I bought mine it came with the fuse box adapter. I put the camera in my F150. It has small fuses and the fuse line the camera came with are bigger style fuses. I put one on my windshield and ran the power plug into the center console where I have a lighter outlet then ran the second camera line along the window trim and over to the steering wheel where I have the secondary camera looking at my dash board. The second camera is powered through the 1st camera. Then in the center console I put a lighter splitter so I still have access to a plug.

The cameras stay on longer than I like after I shut the truck off, but they do power down before the battery runs out. Not sure if its because of a vehicle thing or a camera thing.

    Hope this helps.

I bought this camera to capture footage of my adaptive cruise control braking for no real reason. Don't judge about my music selection.

    Day time clip
Front Camera (mounted to the right of my rear view mirror) - It does look clearer when viewed though the software with the camera

Secondary camera (looking at dash board) I like the two hooked together because it syncs the time line. If you view it in the camera software it will PIP the two.

Big help. I would have no idea where or how to go into the fuse panel or hook on to anything else.
It will go in the lighter outlet. I figure I can run the wire without showing too much along and under upper/lower panels.
BTW - music was OK - I listen to anything from Pavarotti to Willie Nelson to Led Zep to Artie Shaw etc....:rockband:music hath charms to soothe...

    Thanks.

First of all, I'd like to thank all of you for your replies an suggestions. This was no easy task as there are so many on the
market, the price range and reviewing practically everything on YouTube (and what was suggested here).
Secondly, I purchased a DOD LS460W dash cam from Staples and hooked it up in no time and went for a spin.
Actually I went for two spins around the block - forgot to remove the protective plastic film on the lens, so had to see what
the quality was like without it on, duh...
The price was right, the reviews were good, software and set up were fairly easy, and it meets my needs. TaDa.

    SuPaRnr,

No problem. I hope that camera does what you want. I went with the one I got was because I wanted the dual camera option given my predicament with my adaptive cruise control.

Glad I could offer some input.
