I had a saleman tell me similar a couple years back just a different model. He lied because he wanted to sell what he had. Told the manager of dealership to call me when the jerk leaves. I've since bought 2 runners from different dealers

All of this is what drove me to buy a 2021 4x4 "Trail" for $40,100. I could have had a 2016 Trail with 96k miles for 36k. The rear locker and MTS were simply not worth that markup.

Maybe by the end of the year, I can sell my cement cooler for 10k after they stop making them lol.

Its official - as confirmed with a second dealership - you can no longer order a 2021 TRD Pro 4Runner!

Well yeah. When SR5's are selling for what the Pro used to cost, no one can afford the new Pro's :p

I mentioned on another thread earlier that my local dealer has one 21 PRO and is selling for MSRP. It is black though...

8 out of the cheapest 10 4Runners in the entire US are black.. Almost bought one but holding out for a color I can keep looking good on the 6th minute after I wash it.

Just for grins. Keeping it clean and simple. I wonder why no one(at least to my knowledge)has ever done this?

Teflon isn't a bad color and nothing sticks(not a topcoat, but a truly bonded application of teflon).

    DYTECH PROCESS
A highly effective method of fluoropolymer impregnation. This is achieved through evacuation of residual contaminants and the final enhancement of the existing surface micro-crack structure. As compared to Teflon topcoat, our DYTECH process produces a finished coating that is rooted in the workpiece substrate.

Paid 35k for my '18 ORP last year CPO with 22k on odo. Vroom offered me 39.9k with 43k on odo. I put cross bars (cheap ebay) and a set of tires on it (265/70/17 Toyo Open Country A/T3's). I've got my GX to daily. I've got a '96 F-150 if the GX has to go down for an extended time, and the gf has a '21 Pilot. As much as I've enjoyed my T4R, the appreciation of the vehicle and my ability to be debt free in less than 6 months is too big to ignore. I'm still around, but it's a no brainer for my personal situation. I'm sure I'll have another T4R someday.

Got our 2020 ORP back in March with around 8.5k miles at the $39.6k list price from a Kia dealer in Pennsylvania. Came with a small scratch on the rear bumper but other than that brand new. Had a bunch of factory upgrades plus the gunmetal TRD rims so I was surprised that they were able to price it so low and still turn a profit. Either way I'm impressed with it 2k miles later extremely happy that we got it for a steal.

Surprisingly, Ontario does not see such a surge in prices for the 4R. My friend liked our 4R so much, he ordered a new Limited yesterday for MSRP -$2000 on the spot offer. Around 1 1/2 to 2 months wait.
Even if we are to sell it, some of the reasons we got it were reliability and looks. There is no competition in the market as this point. A larger SUV to go camping, what? A GM? No thank you. A Kia? Hell no. We are not touching Fiat with a 10' pool anymore. A Ford? No with that 10 speed tranny, had one and didnt like it at all ! At this point in time, we gonna stick with it. 6000 (s)miles so far !

I was looking at used 2018+ 4-Runners over the past several weeks and they were all going for $38K+ with low miles. I ended up going to our local Toyota dealer to look for new ones but they can't keep them in stock. They get deliveries of a few here and there every month but they usually go right from the truck to the SOLD lot with "Pre-SOLD" stickers on the front windshield. I spoke to a salesmen and asked him if he could find me a TRD Pro and he said he doubted it. I was going to order a TRD with everything I wanted but he said it could take months to get it. So I asked him to look for either a Silver or a Gray TRD Off Road and let me know when it came in. I left him a $300 deposit to hold it until I saw it. After 3 weeks he called and said they just got a gray one in. It didn't have the pleather or the sunroof I wanted but it did have the KDSS, crossbars, and cargo cover (all things I wanted). While I was there, 2 more people came in to wait to see if I was going to purchase the vehicle, because if I didn't, they would. I got first dibs since I was the first to put a deposit down.
It was a Saturday and the dealership had 3 finance guys doing paperwork. The place was PACKED. I waited for over 3 hours until I could finally see one of the finance guys to do my paperwork. That's how busy they are right now. It's CRAZY.
I went to the Jeep dealership down the street the previous weekend and I was the only customer in the showroom.

I started with the idea of buying a Tacoma about six months ago and switched to a 4Runner about four months ago. Finally was ready to make a move on a Pro 4R about a month ago and the well went dry. Decided within the past week that I wanted the Lunar Rock instead my initial plan for a Magnetic Grey Metallic. Called a dealer last week to order one and was told that you can no longer order a Pro 4R. Called a 2nd dealer and they confirmed that I could no longer order a Pro 4R. I was resigned to wait till the 2022's were announced. On Saturday with a few minutes to kill on the computer, I checked a local high volume dealer that had only two 4R's on Friday night and were now showing four 4R's on Saturday. They had a LR Pro inbound. I called immediately, it was unclaimed, and due to arrive on 5/19. Paid the deposit and hopefully it will arrive on 5/19 as scheduled. This dealer and about half of the dealers in my area said they typically do not make a market adjustment on the Pro's, but they are now - due to the historically low inventories. So, they charged me an additional $2,000 above MSRP. Given the times I was fine with that despite being adamant about not paying above MSRP for a Pro previously. I got lucky! So keep searching - there are still 4R's in transit that have not been claimed. Good luck to you!

Two days ago I mentioned that my local dealer had 7 Runners inc. a PRO, all for MSRP. Well the PRO is gone now! Did one of you guys buy it??

I am debating trading my GX in and getting a 4Runner. Mine is a 2017 and I bought it CPO. If I can get out of it and only be down a few grand and I can get into something with adaptive cruise and carplay I am all in.

Wanted a Pro for some time and what better time to try and snag one.

Anyone go from a GX to a 4Runner or own both at different times?

I think you may find this is the worst possible time to snag a Pro. Great time to sell your GX.

This is probably the worst time to reasonably find a Pro 4Runner since they came out with the TRD Pro's in 2015. Historically low inventories and one can no longer order a 2021 Pro 4R at this time. Might get randomly lucky like I did, or buy a used one, or wait for a 2022. Good luck!

Thanks! It has been an interesting journey to get to this point! Extremely fortunate for how it turned out! Fingers crossed until the keys are in my hand on 5/19!

I am in nearby Frederick, MD and that is probably the total among their five or six dealerships. A few months ago that number was in the 70's and 80's and included the 4Runners enroute in addition to what was currently on their lots. I have been following what was going on with their three MD dealerships for several months. Most local Toyota dealerships are running at 30% their normal inventories at this time, so that number of 27 4R's would make sense for Koons collectively!

Koons Toyota in Westminster, MD is showing 27 4Runners among their six dealerships with 1 Pro! Probably 20% of those are enroute - I am guessing!
