Gobi rack delays

My rack is finally in production hope to get it early next month

I received this email from Gobi yesterday (at least they are communicating that it will be an extra delay beyond the originally forecasted 4 months)

I have emailed Weston twice this week and has not responded to either inquiry.

If he’s on vacation I understand, but if others have heard from him this week than I am at a loss of what’s going on.

 

I thought my ass pain waiting on Gobi was over. Now they are making me wait two months for awning mounts...

 

He messaged me today but on messenger. He’s usually online.

 

Which awning you going with?

 

Is that his personal account? I don’t know how I feel reaching out that way.

 

It’s his personal account but that’s how we all contact him.

 

I'm still working on that part. Seems like all of them much like RTT's are the exact same design ranging from 175 bucks all the way up to a few hundred.

 

It means the original 4 month leadtime estimate will actually be six months like this thread has consistently shown.

 

I just canceled my order. Weston never replied to me after 3 attempts. I sent an email to their Customer Service email I just got a generic response.

I’m officially off the Gobi bandwagon. I can’t do business with a company with such shitty customer service.

I’m happy for everyone that has theirs and think the rack looks great.

I won’t call them. Waste of my time.

Actually I just got off the phone with him as he called me after I sent the cancellation email and he was pretty open about the whole transition the company is going through.

All I ever wanted was some acknowledgement because I didn’t send unnecessary emails and he verified I followed everything to a T.

It was enough to keep my order open and he thinks it’s in the home stretch and will verify with me tonight.

He knows how bad their reputation is regarding their customer service and said that was the reason he joined Gobi was to fix it.

We had a lot in common in regards to how we both work for companies going through growing pains.

 

I was in the same boat. Once I spoke to Weston, I felt more comfortable knowing that he was going to send me updates.

 

I happy for both of you. I haven’t had him reply yet but I did get the Form letter stating my order was still in the queue. So I guess that’s good.

 

He told me it’s in queue and should be ready in 3 weeks. If that holds true it will be over 7 months from order date. It still irks me to see others who ordered after me get theirs before me. It’s not right. I didn’t order a special rack or anything.

 

yes it’s not right, I agree. But it also seems like the folks who contacted someone at rogue and complained got faster service. Seems like if you don’t complain, you end up waiting a longer time. Perhaps we should of complained sooner. Mine was 5mo and 9 days .

 

I don't know exactly if this is the case, but they might be making these things in batches and not by order date.

Let's say they do a run of 50 no-rise and then switch over and do a run of 50 stealth racks with no light bars, for example.

Someone who ordered a no-rise after you might receive it before you in this case.

Just a guess.

But the wait is worth it.

 

Just got an email message today that a payment transaction went through from Gobi. Ordered mine 3rd week of October, 2020 which was on the very last day to purchase their summer deal. Total of 28 weeks wait time, but I’m happy to buy something made in the old good USA!

Think I’m gonna go old school round lights but LED’s with rock shield protection; KC, PIAA, Hella … still undecided on MRF.
