Just purchased this lift kit from Toytec and some new 275/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks to replace the stock tires and suspension on my 2020 ORP. Guys at Toytec were super helpful and easy to work with....

Going on next week! Will post back the end result....

    Nice! Congrats!

Did you get the standard spring rate on the coilovers or ask for something else?

    Some what truth yes lol

So since we are a smaller operation of around 23 employees we currently don't have the man power to build, machine, etc shocks/ coilovers in house. So we designed the coilovers, spec'd them out accordingly for each platform we offer product for and have the amazing team at Elka produce the shocks themselves.

    @David@Toytec

Are you able to provide us with the main differences between the Elka's and the Toytec Aluma series shocks?

Also, are you able to put 600lb coils on these shocks upon request?

IMG_9657.jpg Well here's the after shot.. really like how it came out. Looks so much better IMO and it drives awesome. No increase in road noise that I can either from the tires. I measured and it has about 1/2 inch rake which is just what I was going for.

I contacted Toytec in the hopes that they offered a 0"-2" version of their 2.5 Aluma series struts and shocks, and was told that they do not offer a comparable lift like is offered by Elka with their 0"-2" IFP 2.5. Too bad....

    That's a shame.

The elka's are a couple hundred bucks extra, right?

$2.4k + shipping, which in my case, runs $125.

I'm very tempted, the only thing holding me back, really, are the 700 lb. springs on the front struts. @Oldtoyotaguy swears by his Elka setup, which is this same kit, the IFP 2.5 with the 700 lb. springs, but he has an aftermarket front bumper and winch, which I do not have.

That worries me as well.......actually, it's the biggest reason I'm not sold on this set-up.

I assume the Elka's are valved appropriately to handle such a heavy spring weight but you never know until you try it for yourself.

I have heard of some people getting 650lb springs on their Toytec Aluma Series shocks. I wonder if Elka would do that too?

I asked @David@Toytec earlier in this thread if they can do 600lb coils on these, but haven't heard back.

Hey @glwood54, my winch and bumper only adds 102 lbs to the front, and actually, I ran that for a year on a stock suspension. The key thing about the 700 lb spring, is how it’s designed for the rest of the suspension. I talked to an Elka engineer when I was researching what I needed and he told me when they developed the 2.5 IFP they tested a 650 and a 700 spring extensively. In the end, they had to go with the 700 because a 4 Runner is a heavy vehicle and that’s what it needs. They were right. I drive on a lot of rough gravel roads, and no passenger ever says, “man, that’s a rough ride”. It drives like it’s supposed to. Comfortable, under control. No front end dive if I need to stand on the brakes for any reason. It handles like a big, underpowered sports car, lol, flat without any lean or wallow. It has kdss which helps too.
If I bought a new 4 Runner, I would install the exact same set up on it right from day 1. It’s perfect for a 5th gen.

    To much

With the way our internals are designed its specific to the 700 lb spring rate, minimum pre-load will equal a lot better of an offroad/ on road experience, they are designed it specific to be able to hold the vehicle up, with minimum preload to ensure proper clearance within each coil spring wrap to prevent any possible coil clashing..

We have tons of 5th gens running around town here with the Alumas/ 700lb spring rate all stock weight and its the perfect ride quality/ stance overall.

I guess I would be willing to give those a go, but I was told that the Aluma setup was not offered in 0" - 2" lift, only 2" - 3", which is more than I want.

What's interesting is that Elka also uses the 700 lb. springs on their 2.0 system as well as their 2.5...

    Question...
    How far up you thinking?
Wouldn't the lowest setting on Aluma work l for ya? Just askin

1.5" is what I was shooting for. The Elka 2.0 & 2.5 IFP both come preset at 1.5" front lift unless you ask them for something else. I know that .5 inches doesn't sound like much, it's just that if you're going to put out that much $, it would be nice for it to be what you want.
