Can anyone tell me the distance from the ground to the bottom of the sleeve of the hitch on an ORP?

There are no ORP's around for me to look at and I am trying to figure out what style hitch insert I will need.

On my old Explorer the bottom of my sleeve was at 15.5 inches, so I am thinking I need to get a new hitch insert close to that height to tow my boat? I took some pics prior to getting rid of it.

I know the height of the 4R is taller than my old Explorer, so I am trying to decide if I should get an adjustable height insert of maybe maybe a certain size drop?

    Appreciate any insight.

The bottom(slide in point) of my receiver is at 17.5" - that said I'm lifted 1.25" higher than stock, so roughly 16.25 stock. If this helps?

Thanks Moonlanding; do you think the Pro would set higher than the ORP from the factory.

If the initial height on your Pro was 16.25" to the to bottom of the receiver I would need maybe a 3/4" inch drop I would think.

I am itching for my delivery as you probably can tell :)

They say the PRO @ OEM height is 1" higher than stock.

I know you are and understand the itch too.

Pro is higher on the front only. Hitch is same height as other trim levels.

That said, unless I've been towing "wrong", I don't think an inch up or down on the tongue height is going to matter... I would just use the ball assy from your Explorer....

I think I need a 2" inch sleeve though for the new 4 Runner, it definitely seems larger.

The sleeve from my Old Explorer was 1.25 inches in width and height. So I could use the same ball itself but I am fairly certain I need a new sleeve that is 2 inches.

I also need to figure out wiring, my boat trailer wiring is a 4 pin connector (old school) and only about 12" long. So I was thinking of getting a 7 pin (round) adapter to a 4 pin if I can find one with a coil cord (like old school telephone cord). Its an old boat and trailer (from the 90's) so nothing fancy like trailer brakes etal.

Oh, your Exp had a baby hitch. Ok. Yeah, the 4R has a 2" / class III.

Just get a 4 wire flat extension, easy enough.

Thanks guys--MeefZah what is a 4 wire flat extension? Sorry if this is dumb question. I am wondering how do I know much length of wire I need from underneath the 4R to my trailer tongue (keeping in mind I would not want it to drag on pavement). When I bought my Explorer back then I had to go to a hitch shop that installed that hitch and hooked everything up. This is a bit different since the 4R comes with the hitch installed. Thanks sorry if these are dumb questions. I just like to go fishing :)

4 wire flat... mine is 48", as pictured. Just coil the excess loosely around the frame of the trailer just behind the hitch.
