    Hey all,

I need some help. Current set up: 2020 Venture on Eibach pro lift kit, JBA UCAs, 265/70,17s (stock size), on stock TRD gunmetal rims.

I want some 33s on there. I'm open to pizza cutters, but exploring all options. I knew there were issues with rubbing fender and body mount at certain sizes, but now I'm hearing there's issues with rubbing the UCAs?

I'm confused as hell, and not sure how to get bigger tires on there on a path of least resistance (or rub in this case, lol). Anyone with similar set ups that have recommendations?

I went with a Toyotec 3” front and 2” rear lift with Bilstein 5100 shocks all the way around. I also have SPC front UCAs. I have 285/70/17 tires on TRD Pro wheels (17 x 7). I have absolutely no tire rub anywhere and I did not have to modify anything.

@VentureRunner , Mind posting some pics of your ride in its current setup? I'd love to see. :)

I'm running KO2s with 285/70/17s on the stock ORP rim with the ICON Stage 7 kit on all 4 corners. Had a bit, I mean a smidgen of tire rub on the front mud flaps but not worth even bothering with. Now that I have the Spidertrax spacers installed,....well the mud flap does no good anyway so I removed the mud flaps completely.

Dealership did my spacer lift when I bought it, along with 285 RG's on TRD Pro rims.

All they had to modify was the front inner fender nip and tuck.

Front mud flaps are still installed. Zero rubbing issues and no wheel spacers.

A friend with a similar lift, 285 BFG's and aftermarket rims had to remove the mud flaps. Her wheels stick out about 1" farther than mine.

Hi! Can someone help me. I already bought the shocks and little did I know about the rubbing. Do you think it will still rub on my end? and how much lift do I need to do with these lift kits? I appreciate any advice you guys can give.

Fyi, from the JBA website/product page...
Please Note: 32.5" and larger diameter tires need aftermarket wheels with less then factory wheel back space.
    • LT285/70R17 (32.7" x 11.2") tire on 17 x 9 wheel, -12mm offset (4.50" backspace)
    • LT285/70R17 (32.7" x 11.2") tire on 17 x 8.5 wheel, -9mm offset (4.30" backspace)
    • LT285/70R17 (32.7" x 11.2") tire on 17 x 8.5 wheel, 0mm offset (4.75" backspace)
    • LT285/75R16 (32.8" x 11") tire on 16 x 9 wheel, -19mm offset (4.25" backspace)
    • LT255/85R16 (33.10" x 10") tire on 16 x 8 wheel, -12mm offset (4" backspace)
    • LT315/70R17 (34.4" x 12.4") tire on 17 x 9 wheel, -25mm offset (4.00" backspace)
    • Any tire that is 32.2" diameter and smaller there is no fitment problem.
Tire sizes that work well with the JBA UCAs

    • 265/75R16 tire 31.6" x 10.4" on factory wheels
    • 255/75R17 tires 32.1" x 10" on factory wheels
    • 275/65R18 tires 32.1" x 10.8" on factory wheels
    • Any tire that is 32.2" diameter and smaller there is no fitment problem."

    Something else to consider...

Stock Trail/ORP wheel is 7.5” wide, roughly 32 lbs, and is +15mm offset.

Stock Pro is 7” wide, ~28 lbs, and +4mm offset

There is an after market 17x8 Pro rim (don't know the spec). Just do your research and take all recommendations with a grain of salt, people mean well enough (most of the time) but leave out some critical information at times.

Any updates on this. I run the same setup and also want to go bigger tires, would like to avoid buying rims... For now (not that i can find any to buy at the moment).

I have been running 33’s for about 3 yrs. You just have to commit to it, if you need to trim the fenders, or do a bmc, or what ever. I did both with mine, and have had no problems.

There's unique issues with the JBA UCA and back spacing. I appreciate the information, but myself and the OP are asking specifically about the JBA issue.

Like @SlvrSlug, I’ve been running 33’s for a while and you just have to be willing to put in the work and get the right components. Best of luck:mudding:

Nearly all aftermarket UCAs will require new wheels or spacers.

    SPCs have the same problem.

    Hello guys,
I'm new to all of this and I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I'm wondering if it's possible to install 33-inch tires on 16-inch rims since I've noticed that most people seem to use 17-inch rims instead. I'd appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thank you!

Not sure if 16" wheels would clear the brakes? Probably why Toyota went with 17" wheels

JBA UCA's move the upper ball joint back towards the firewall to gain more caster. Just under 2" of lift, JBA's, 265's on 17x8 -10 wheels and I still rub on the mud flaps a bit. A safer bet would be 275's, but maybe you can find a tire shop that will let you test fit some 285's.

The "FN Wheels f(x)Pro" (aftermarket pro) wheels are 17x8, 0mm offset and 24lb (contemplating them myself...in dark metallic blue because it's not black)

Something else to keep in mind is that most tire manufacturers list 7.5 as the minimum wheel width for 285/70/17's (yeah, I know, people put them on TRD Pro wheels that are 7" wide all the time, been there, done that with my Nissan and while I had no issues, I would always recommend following manufacturer's requirements).

Keep in mind, they require grease every so often... seams to get everywhere. If you dont need to upgrade, stay stock.

The UCA's? Yeah I do every couple thousand KM's. Super easy with the grease ports. I just really struggle on a few of the trails I go on and actually have to bail in some sections. The smallest tires my buddies run are 33's. I'm on 31's.

I have spc uca, eibach stage 1 on second clip, trd pro wheels (17x7) on 285 KO2's and very minimal rub at full lock, not even worth trimming for me.
