New owner of a 2015 sr-5 with 81,xxxx miles. I am coming from a Jeep Wrangler and can say I already love the 4runner much better! My questions are 1. What is the bolt size for the little trap door that covers the oil drain plug? ( Missing both as I found the door in the glove box)2. What can be done to quiet the engine down at idle?( I've read and understand these engines sound a lot like a diesel?)

The bolts you need are M8-1.25x30mm. They take a 12mm wrench. You do not want to drive with this off as a lot of road debris, etc will manage to find its way through the opening and deposit itself inside. Dealer sells the bolts for $0.95 each. PN:9008011373.

On your next oil change try running the Toyota brand oil and see if it makes a difference in how it sounds at idle. It seems the yota brand 0w20 has a lot more moly in it which helps .
