I have a 2020 ORP and would like to mount a light bar behind the front bumper but the TSS sensor would block part of the light. Under the TSS sensor, there is a piece of plastic. What is it? Can it be removed without causing a problem? If so, I may be able to mount a light bar where the TSS sensor would not interfere with the light output (much).

It might be there to make the grill more rigid. Can you feel around behind it, is there anything behind it?

It doesn't look easy to remove.

I'm going to guess make it rigid as well so its not vibrating like mad while driving.

I could not feel anything behind it but because of the grill, I could not get my fingers too far in to it.

    That makes sense.

My guess was to make it more rigid, I looked behind mine the other day and there's nothing on the back side of that part. I have a light bar on the way and was just going to dremel that part out

That’s exactly what I was thinking but I didn’t want to eff anything up.

Did you look behind through the engine bay?

If you remove the splash shield underneath the front bumper - super easy 5 small bolts - you can look up and get a good view.

Personally, I wouldn't remove it. I imagine it adds rigidity to that sensor / mounting, and that sensor can be finicky, from what I've read/seen.

I haven't seen it done, but I want to mount two circular lights in that area, somehow. Haven't decided if I want them behind or in front of the grill. The old school circular lights really appeal to me while I'm not a fan of light bars, at all. To each his own hah.

As I was reading through this thread I thought this exact thought. I bet two rounds would look cool.

Check this link out, the dude dremeled out that area under the TSS sensor and stuck a light bar there. Seems like it might be structural or just put there for simplicity in manufacturing, but he did it and it seemed alright.

That is exactly what I was looking for. I read the posts and it sounds like the Dremel was the fix. Thanks for posting that link!
