Eibach Lift: Upper Control Arms or No?

Thanks for the reply! They actually look like the stock boots. Did you get your stock suspension back after your install? That's kinda neat if that's the case.. I didn't think about re-using the stock boots.

 

Yes I did get the stock suspension back and has been sitting in storage ever since. The guy I bought the 4runner from had a 3in lift spacer installed and the shop I had do the swap stated the original hardware was not long enough and coming loose, they were actually really glad I brought it in because they said a few more miles and the screw would have been off. So I do know they used all new hardware for my install, hope that helps.

I am glad that I've run into this thread, seeing that I've just ordered my Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2.0 Lift Kit yesterday. I'm all excited about it, but feel as though I can use a few tips... They're mentioning that it goes up to 2.5" in the front and 1.0" in the back. Is this about correct? My thing is, would this look good, or do you recommend other settings? Thanks for your input.

Depends on your preferences.

Most people seem pretty happy with lift ratios that go something like this: 1/0, 2/1, or 3/2. That is 1" of lift in front and 0" in the back.......and so on. So if the rear of your truck is lifted 1" in the back, you'll want to adjust the fronts so they lift the truck roughly 2".

Again, this is all preference, but it seems to be what most people go with. And for reference, 1/0 is the stock stance of a Pro.

Just curious of your expected ETA of the 2.0 kit? As I ordered mine today and eibach says they will most likely ship in July

 

Actually, I ordered my stage 2 kit from Stage3Motorsports.com. I received the entire kit last Wednesday, 31st March.... Stage3Motorsports only had like 6 of them left, and i was one of the lucky ones... I literally, on the day of ordering, had the set in my cart on Eibach.com, which claimed "in stock", but when I hit the cart, it changed to "out of stock", literally before my eyes. Additionally, when I read that I may need the control arms, I started looking at the OME U00004. Everywhere was out of stock, except for Summit Racing. They had ONE more, which I thought was a joke, but it's set to arrive tomorrow as well. I feel a bit lucky with these entire items. Good luck on yours mate. Having mine put on on Monday.

Maybe I should look around and try and get lucky (I never get lucky). Congrats to you on your success. Good luck with your equipment. Would you be so kind as to reply back to me with a review of what you think about it as far as look/ride and such. Thanks for your input.

When I was looking, Tire Rack actually had the Eibach adjustable coil-overs in stock and on sale. This was about a month ago.. may still be there. Don't be afraid to buy the parts separately and piece together your own "kit." Wheeler's had no Eibach "Stage 1 Lift Kits" in stock, but had dozens of Eibach Pro-Truck Sport shocks on the shelves.

I've also noticed that a lot of companies are selling the parts separately. It may end up costing a little more, but it's a very good option.

Camburgs are great. I have the 1” uniball style on my 04’ Taco. How do you like the ball joint style? I find the cost and ease of replacing uniballs an easier throng to swallow.

I ordered 5100s with Wheelers off road springs. 625lb spring rate in the front. Got sliders coming too. How is your ride?

 

I really like the camburgs, and the shop I went to recommended I go with the ball joint style for limited maintenance. I have had them on for 6 months now and so far they are great, alignment came in really well too. I was not interested in getting uni balls because of all the reviews on having to constantly grease them along with the possible squeaking. 4runner is my daily so the set up I have works great. Ride quality is okay, definitely could be improved. I had a 2015 Tacoma for three months before trading that in for the 4runner and wow the 4runner is superior in every way, I feel the 4runner is much quicker and can get up to speed faster just my two cents.

 

Here's a 2018 SR5 with the Eibach kit, stock size wildpeaks and still oem UCAs. I may eventually swap the UCAs for JBA but it is not necessary. Truck ride and handles great both on road and off.

 

Looks really nice! Perfect for a vision of what mine will look like. (even same color) may I ask if that kit was stage 1 or stage 2??
