Cv nut

    Has anyone come across two different size cv nuts
    i bought 36mm removed the drivers side i got to the passenger side the 36 mm is to small bought a 38 mm still to small called around and found a bigger socket still to small.Does anyone have any suggestions ? The funny thing is the threads and the inside diameter are the same as a factory castle nut

    You mean the big ass nut on the end of the front axles/spindle?

    On a 2002 they are 35mm. Thought they were all the same back to 96.

    That's pretty crazy. Let us know how big that passenger one is. I would recommend replacing BOTH with the correct size. Sounds like someone has been in there already and screwed around.

    Sounds like they are not stock but auto store replacements already. The only time I ever encounter CV nuts not 35mm are from those auto store replacements

    Should get a set of calipers and find out what size they are.

    My extended cv axles run a 40mm nut and I run the axles on both ends -

    I do carry a 35mm and 36mm in my 4R though for trail runs with Tacoma's and 4Runner's.
