Ball joints weren’t the issue, it’s the bushing on the actual arm piece so I got some new ones! Gotta love tracking down creaking noises with suspension:D

Glad to hear you got it worked out. Once you install the new arms and ball joints, will you need a new alignment?

Yeah I’ll need to get it aligned! The ball joint will be removed in the process and reinstalled so they’ll have to narrow down the numbers again.

Lurked here for a while, especially since I just sold my 4runner, but wanted to say I went through 2 sets of SPC axis design UCAs, and SPC literally laughed at me on the phone when I told them I bought through Amazon and they were refusing to help, to which I was told "Good luck, we can't do anything."

Both sets I went through had bushing failures and 3 of 4 ball joints went bad, less than 2k miles on the first set, and just over 8k on the second. I put Icon deltas on the 3rd time and never had a problem again, truck felt tighter too

Just got the control arms replaced and the squeak is gone! Hoping for no more issues. Yeah, you have to verify what’s an authorized seller just like with any other stuff otherwise the warranty doesn’t work. I got mine replaced under warranty, zero cost to me, and their customer service was impeccable. If this becomes a normal issue though I’ll probably look to switch to different UCA’s. Uniball UCA’s won’t be much better in the noise department either. Thanks for the feedback though!

Can you grease the bushings or are they meant to be left alone?

Yeah you can use lithium grease but SPC had a bad batch with the bushings so they replaced instead of recommending grease for my situation.

I get being careful but seriously how do they think Amazon gets access to brand new in the box with all the SPC packaging UCA’s?

There’s tons of third party sellers on Amazon. You have to make sure it’s sold by Amazon and then make sure they’re an authorized retailer for SPC.

Are they polyurethane bushings or something else?
