Black Rhino Ridge

Anyone run these yet? I'm very attracted to the stock-like Tacoma look, but 38 lbs per wheel seems insane to me. That + Duratracs and you're pushing 90 lbs per corner. Are they actually that heavy?

That IS insane. I'd never run an alloy wheel that heavy. Most steelies are probably lighter. IMO those aren't even that good looking.

I'm no expert, but I know you want to go DOWN in wheel weight compared to stock, not up.

 

Absolutely agree on the weight, which is why I'm asking. If I remember correctly, the TRD wheels I currently have are somewhere in the relm of 28-30. It has to be a typo right? Who, in their right mind would put an extra 10 lbs of unsprung weight per corner on their rig with as sluggish as this thing is already? You'd have to SC just to break even.

 

I think you're correct on the wt of the off-road wheels, and the Pro wheel is actually even lighter at 25 lbs. The Black Rhino Armory wheel is pretty popular, and those are around 38 lbs as well. It's all about style over substance for a lot of people I guess.

I don't know how they even make an alloy wheel that heavy, at least the Armory makes more sense because it's just a flat wheel with no spoke holes. Maybe check some other sites and see if the weight is the same.

Personally I would probably try to select another wheel, I think the black rhino wheels are aptly named because that's about what they weigh, lol.

 

I think I'm going to stick with my TRD wheels. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't misreading something!
