    Hi,
you guys use 3 ton jack stand on the 4runner?
I just got a set of sunex 3-ton stand. Now I got me thinking when I start to lift the 4runner on one side and let it rest on the1 stand while I go and jack the other side... it would be too much weight/stress for the 1 side in the meantime?

To answer your questoin, no, it should be fine. Although, if you have enough room where you're jacking I'd recommend just jacking from the front subframe, put stands under the front frame rails, then jack from the rear differential and throw the stands under the rear axle (or frame depending on what you're doing). Easier imo!

Why are you lifting one side at a time?

Are you lifting with a floor jack or bottle jack?

It's a matter of safety and you didn't give us enough information to be completely accurate with advice.

I jack the whole front up throw stands under both sides and call it a day.

I'm not sure either why you are doing one side at a time. If using the bottle jack I'd suggest investing in a good jack for regular maintenance.

hey sorry... you know I didn't think about jacking it up from the front of the car. I am planning to do the oil change on it soon 1st time on the 4runner. I was thinking jack it one side like I used to to do changing a tire of a car. I have a 09 tacoma and the clearance high enough to do it. I looked at the manual on manual jacking it up, but now I am thinking, it doesn't seem right.

3 ton will hold fine but best suited for smaller cars (sedans). If you want to be absolutely safe get 6 ton stands since those are cheap and will give you enough elevation.

When buying a jack or stands you could literally be trusting them with your life. For the extra short money you will spend best to way overbuy the weight range you should need.
