Lift Kit help for my '94

    I just got a 94 4Runner and I have been looking for a good lift kit for it. I've found 2 promising kits and I wonder if any of you have tried either and would have advice for me, or if there are other options out there you might suggest.

    Here are the 2 I found:

    Nitro Gas kit from Ironman 4x4 with 2" lift

    4-5" Lift from Rough Country

    Any advice or direction would be appreciated.

    I would stick with one of the 2 inch lift kits. I would go with the OME. I have OME springs in the rear of mine and love them. No sagging even after 20 years.

    From what I’ve seen, specifically this video https://youtu.be/topqcE-4PyI, you can run 33x10.5” tires without any lift. That video made me pull the trigger on those tires. What I did suspension wise was add new coils and 1.25” spacers in the rear, cranked the torsion bars in the front, added 2” longer shocks and aligned it. Doing the work myself I was in about $350 for the suspension work and paid a shop $900 for the tires. After a little while the front end softened up and it rides pretty nice and it even off roads pretty decent. Here’s a pic it’s not super high, but it has enough room to where it doesn’t rub and I’ve done some crazy stuff with it.

    www.tnaracing.com supplies the Blazeland long travel kit as both a turnkey or WIY. This approach uses the OEM A-arm pivots and lengthens the arms by approximately 3.5". This increases your effective wheel travel to approximately 11 to 12 inches. Three things are needed to retain the 4WD and complete the installation. You will need to get a set of CV axles from a T100, Bilstein makes a lengthened shock that will fit the OEM mounting points as well as low profile bump stops. In addition the installation of OME, Sway Away or Ironman torsion bars which have higher effective spring rate are recommended.     I have to get new shocks anyway, because I bought it with shocks that were shot. So I figured a little lift would be good. Thanks for your help.

    Are you saying that if I add a 2'' lift I will lose my 4WD?

    No, I believe @atgparker is saying that you would need to do those things to retain 4WD with the long travel kit he linked.

    One more thing, get manual hubs, your cv axles will thank you. You can do a diff drop, but I don’t like the angle it puts on the front drive shaft

    Do you have a suggestion for locking hubs that work well but wont cost a fortune?

    The mile marker hubs have been good to me so far. I got them on an Amazon warehouse deal for $60. I think they retail for like $150 or something.
