I bought my first 4runner and it had eibach stage 1 lift with eibach coils and jba uca’s when I bought it. It looks awesome but unfortunately it is just a tad too stiff especially in Ohio winter when it’s below 20 degrees. The only thing I can think to do is convert it back. It’s a 2016 Trail Premium with KDSS. Are their brands of suspension that are similar to stock or does anyone have a stock setup sitting around that they could sell? I found this set on eBay but I am not positive that this fits... these are the part numbers:
    PART#'S
    FRONT STRUTS # 4851080508 X2
    STRUT MOUNTS # 4860960100 X2
    FRONT SPRING BUSHINGS # 4830460150 X2
    FRONT COIL SPRINGS # 4813135650 x2
    REAR COIL SPRINGS # 4823135340 X2
    REAR STRUTS # 4853080606 X2

my Toyota dealer wouldn’t tell me the part numbers and I’ve looked these up on several oem websites but it’s not really clear it’s driving me insane. Help!

If you don’t mind me asking, how much are they asking for that stuff?

I was thinking if you could find someone in your area you may be able to pick up some take offs for less. I have everything you showed with about 1000 miles on them off of my 2017 SR5 Premium, but shipping kills.

Did you reach out to Eibach ? They may have a solution with softer front springs !

I am thinking that since I have the KDSS system the shocks are slightly different but not positive...

I did call them and their only suggestion was that maybe the control arms could of been tightened while lifted and then once weight was put on everything they said they could be pre-loaded or torqued...

What tires do you have on? Do you happen to know the load rating? What tire pressure are you running in them.

These are the first things I would check as they could absolutely be the culprit behind a harsh ride.

Also as mentioned above, try loosening the UCA bolt (all while your truck is sitting on the ground), lube UCA bushings, and then torque the bolt to the proper spec.

Falken 275 70 17, when I first bought it it was really rough then I realized the dealer had pressure pumped up to 50 psi... I lowered to 32.. also my tires are load rating C. Since I lowered it is a lot better. I will try the uca loosening and lube. Thanks!

    Tires sound good then.

Yeah, try the UCA thing and let us know. It'll be the next step before replacing any suspension components.

One more thing to check......take a look at your front shocks and look for the different lift height settings on the shock body.

Make sure your coil is on the lowest setting.

Wife’s 4runner has dobinsons and it rides stiff. My GX 460 with KDSS on Ironman stage 2 rides like a dream. Definitely recommend Ironman 4x4

OP. I have a complete set with stock UCAs that came off of my 2020 with KDSS, had 900 miles on them. Stored in the Eibach box that replaced them since April. Only needs top hats, nuts and bolts to go back on a truck.
Weights about 90lbs - arm and legs to ship. I'm in 11214 if you are interested in working something out. LMK

Yeah I learned about that when I called eibach and it’s at lowest setting...They said I could raise to highest setting and go to stock springs to maintain the 2 inches but I am thinking most of the stiffness comes from the shocks not the springs... I could be wrong...what do you think?

The Eibach springs you have are a stiffer than stock........so a stock spring would soften it up.

I have the same Eibach shocks you have with stock coils. I really like the way it rides, but ride is subjective. We just want to make sure that this isn't something that could be easily fixed before you replace everything. If everything is in working order and you just don't like the ride, then it's worthwhile to change it up.

I thought about just switching just the springs (after I check out everything), but just didn’t want to go through the trouble and then still not like the ride. I went and test drove a couple 2021 over the weekend just so I could know what stock felt like, neither had the kdss system so I am not sure if that rides different under normal driving conditions... appreciate all the feedback...

    Totally understand.

I would take a test drive in a stock KDSS to get a fair comparison.

It will ride different than those trucks without.

if I lift this runner at some point it’ll be with Ironman- I really like the reviews I’ve read so far. Had ome on my Tacoma, pretty stiff, fox on another Tacoma, still nothing to write home about

If I put a stock spring on the front and raise the clip to the highest setting eibach said I’ll maintain my 2 inches of lift...was thinking I could switch rear to stock but that will also lower it an inch...am wondering if I could just a spacer in the rear to lift it back up after I do that...

Replacing the rear coil won't make as big of a difference as replacing the front coil.

Stock front spring rate = 589 lbs (according to the best info I've seen)
Eibach front spring rate = 660 lbs

Stock rear spring rate = 200 lbs
Eibach rear spring rate = 206 lbs

Go for it. Ironman has been the best so far in ride quality. I ran OME on my truck and it was stiff, Dobinsons stiff, Ironman smooth

OP, your "C" load tires should have 40 PSI, not 32. 32 is the spec for stock "P" rated tires.

Both Dealer and tire shops put 40 psi on both my Load C tires and P rated tires. I drop to 34ish for my Load C and 32ish for my P rated tires.

I guess this link suggest what tire pressure that we should run. (38 was too much for my liking though. I like very soft old land yacht ride, LoL..)

I just installed Eibach Pro-Truck Shocks (Stock Springs) all the way around on my 2021 ORP w/KDSS and it does ride stiff...way stiffer than I was hoping for after all the forum research I did. I thought avoiding the 5100's would have helped avoid this situation, seems I was wrong.

I'm in touch with AccuTune down in SoCal to possibly swap to a custom Fox system for better ride comfort. I have the Eibach's set at 1.6" front, and though I love the height, the ride is intolerable for my needs.

Do you know what perch setting they put it on I think the higher the perch setting the more load on the springs and harder or stiffer ride but more lift, so you can try the second from bottom before swapping it out good luck

I’m on the third perch up from the bottom on both sides. Confirmed when I went to get tires installed a couple days ago. The next one down would be at 0.8” lift. Might consider it...reading as much as I can between work this week to narrow down a solution.
