The Elka suspension thread

Go for the 2.5 IMO if you're already springing on top-of-the-line suspension. I think the 4Runner's front end is heavy enough to appreciate a 2.5" body. The TRD Pro comes with a ~2.5" front shock, FYI.

You might check out my small review on the thread ELKA, mine is the 2.5 IFP set at the factory default of 1 1/2”. I added a corn fed 1/2” spacer to the rear to ensure level, and I’m glad I did that. I kept stock springs because all the after market springs produce at least 1” of rear lift and that gives a rear high, ungainly look that I didn’t want. My 4 Runner looks level. I’m not carrying heavy loads in it, and I don’t have it fitted up with tons of armour. I do have bumpers and a winch on it though. My front bumper is a Victory aluminum with a warn 10s winch that gives me 110lbs - insignificant. I used it for a year on the stock suspension so I knew it wouldn’t be a problem with the new one. The 2.5 shocks are definitely the way to go, imho.

 

Hey buddy, I just did after sending you my replay, I will be following your suggestions on your post. I just ordered my Cornfed 1/2" spacer my next step will be the 2.5 IFP set and set at the factory default to 1 1/2”, maybe 1 3/4" not sure.. I am still debating if to get the JBA UCA'S,not sure yet. I hope to have all this done by this summer. My TRD OR has only 60k, so not in any hurry to splurge just yet.

 

My OR has 43k on it - I put the Elka suspension on at around 30k. What a difference! You’ll love it! My only advice is don’t get the front too high. But that’s a matter of aesthetics. Factory default is perfect with a 1/2” spacer. If you want the front higher, I’d put a 3/4” spacer in the rear spring. Just trying to be helpful.

 

Well then I will go with the 1 1/2" because I have already ordered the 1/2" spacer, I just received an email that they have been shipped. Hey I will take advice and help anytime. I have now my dream vehicle and don't see myself trading it for anything . Being retired now it's my time to enjoy life.. thanks again for your help...

Hi buddy, I have to put a hold on my suspension upgrade for a while, unforeseen repairs to the house have come up. But as soon as I do the upgrade I will be posting pics... thanks for asking...

Doing the install for ELKA 2.0 on 4Runner with KDSS, I got SWAY BAR spacers in the kit for front. The instructions don't mention anything for that for KDSS equipped 4Runner.
Should I install them or no?
