    This all day. You have to do the same trimming with 35s even with anything under a DRop bracket lift going more than 3”. A tire stuffed is a tire stuffed. I have been running 285s since my truck was stock height and the same trimming was needed that had to be done on my previous truck that was lifted. Oddly enough I haven’t had to do BMC/CMC for some reason yet though and I’ve taken my truck through it’s paces off-road. But 35s are waiting in the garage for my wheels to get here next week so that’s another story.

    OP you can fit 285s with a little trimming and a proper alignment but if your not wanting to make the sacrifice for a gain that would be primarily looks in your situation. You may be surprised on what just adding a more aggressive tire will do for looks and performance.

    Trimming some plastic doesn't concern me. I'll be adding aftermarket uca's, which will hopefully be enough to avoid a bmc. If not, then I'll just go back to oem size tires. It's my daily and I plan on keeping it long term, so I never planned on beating on it too much.

    I think a few here are on 285's without needing a BMC. I'm not sure about skinnies, but it seems like you should be fine.

    Post pictures when you get the lift installed. :)

    I installed a Dobinsons(roughly 2.75-3” lift) and added trd wheels wrapped in 285s. The 265s looked way too small. Plus the added clearance and width give the T4R a nice stance.

    No BMC. I had to cut a small piece of the front lower bumper on both sides. Took maybe 5 minutes. Now only rub on mud flap at full lock when backing up.

    A little stiffer than the Ironman on my GX but not too bad. We are going to do an alignment this week and if numbers aren’t where I want them I’ll order UCAs

    Hi again...

    On second thought, how about a 275/70/17 on OEM or TRD wheels with the same Bilstein 6112 @ 2.5" front, and 5160 @1.5" rear.

    Will the 275 look small or even funny ?

    Yes I plan on getting E rated tires, and will also do UCA's

    If any member is running the same height lift and size tires, would you mind posting some pics.. thanks

    Not exactly what you asked, but here's a 2.3"/1.5" lift with stock size (265/70/17) KO2's.

    I think a small lift looks fine with stock size tires as long as they have some sidewall tread.

    Jeeze, how heavy are those Grabber ATX?? When we were on P265 Wildpeaks, which are considered heavy, we loved the ride and felt it was better than with the brand new stock Deullers. I also don't think our gas mileage was affected that much.. maybe 1-2 MPG max. 4Runner felt woefully slow during the test drive so it's always been a slow-poke to us.

    This. I think a lot of the guys that say 33's don't rub without a BMC aren't actually wheeling hard where they are balancing on two opposite corner tires down the trail. Going down the highway is one thing but once you start to flex hard and have your wheels at full lock, everything is pushed WAY more into your fender, bumper, mud flap, etc. All that said, I don't have personal experience with 33's.. but my 32.4" tires already give me a bitch-fit when I simply make a hard turn on the street.... On stock alignment, AFTER cutting the front bumper, I cannot make a circle in a flat parking lot without rubbing to hell and back unless I am going 1 MPH. Obviously more trimming needs to be done, as well as a different alignment possibly. Since I have a lift already on the way, I am purposely waiting to install the lift before I trim anymore, because I want to see how much difference a lift actually makes with respect to tire clearance, if any.

    Only if it's lifted a bunch.. which is not really necessary.

    To each his own. I think the stock TRD Pro has a great stance. This is what a stock 4Runner, or a 4Runner on 265's should look like. It's also wonderfully capable. Anything more is just for looks for 99.9% of people. And frankly, if off-roading is such a concern, a different vehicle may be better suited anyway. But I do love my 32.4's so I'm happy to work with them. I enjoy the modding process and having a more unique ride.

    Yes they should of put the ATs on everything. But since they didn't the stock Dunlops look like ass.

    Yeah I know its for MPG and the majority we are probably the minority blah blah blah.

    According to the General site, they only weigh 42.5 lb. That's one of the reasons why I went with them over the Falkens, the Falkens are like 46-47 for the P rated. I thought that was a little heavy for a standard load tire. Also, I had read a review of them on Trail4r, who said that his mileage didn't change when switching to these tires in standard load.

    so is that ALL you did is put Eibach springs on your pro and you could fit 285s on your pro with no mods and no rubbing??? if that's the case, can you give me the part #?? it looks sweet. was it front and back or just front? I would be putting BFG KOs TY I hope it's true!!!

    I doubt it. Lift does not actually clear tires. Alignment and trimming are the only way to actually clear tires. Lift just hides the rubbing.

    NM turns out my 2018 has Bilstein coilovers and you have theFOX and Eibach doesn't make them for the Bilstein, back to square one.ugh. there has to be a simple way to make my trd pro look a little more aggrssive without a bunch of mods

    does ANYONE on here have PRO wheels with 275s with spacers (1"or 1.25') with no rubbing? that may be a simpler solution than 285s if anyone has done it successfully with no modsI would love to see/hear about it....Thank you for the imput
