Stock height measurement

Wheel hub center to wheel well arch, what are typical STOCK 5th Gen measurements? Is it 20” front 22” rear or am I making that up?

It's right around there.

I think mine was closer to 19 front and 21 rear, if I'm not mistaken.

 

I’m at 22 1/2” front and 24 1/2” rear, my lift was 2 1/2” front and 2” springs in the rear.

 

The numbers are different for driver's and passenger's sides. All 4 corners need to be measured, especially if there's any lift.

 

I took measurements before the lift and mine came out to
20.8” FD
21.2” FP
22.5” RD
22.6” RP

I feel like I got a fuck ton of lift out my rear springs, more than I should and definitely more than I wanted. But I was changing from one aftermarket spring to another so I don’t know what the actual starting point was at this point.

 

What springs did you swap and what are the rears measuring now?

 

The new Toytec Superflex XD springs that they recommended for my setup (supposed to be 2.5” lift with weight on them), it’s at 25.5” granted its day 1 with no sag yet, but that’s way to high.

A 2” +400lb spring that has a long travel free length is more or less non existent.

 

Here are mine. Only addition at the time was 90 lb sliders:

19-2/16" front driver
21-9/16" rear driver

19-5/16" front passenger
21-12/16" rear passenger

3/16" lean to the left
2-7/16" higher in the rear

 

what lift did you do in the front?

 

Mine stock with KDSS is pretty level. 19.5 front and 22 rear on both sides.

Thanks for the info on this thread - very helpful. New to the 4runner world, just installed a Dobinson lift kit, and now have questions on the lift height. I requested a 2.5" F and 1.5" R w/ UAC from Dobinson but after measuring the wheel center to fender - these are my values..

Stock Grandtrek AT20 265/70/17 with Dobinson Lift
F Pass 23.5"
F Driver 23.5"

R Driver 24.75"
R Pass 24.5"

Based on this thread, I am going to assume my 4R stock height is ~20" F and 22" R. I understand the stock height may vary from 4R to 4R however, I can't imagine this range to be greater than 1".

Any other 4R owners with same lift height seeing this center wheel to fender height after installation?
I've been seeing threads where lifts above 3" may impact ride quality, control, and suspension over time? Is this true and if I have a 3.5" lift in the front, should I be concerned?
Does the coilover "settle" after installation? Is that why I'm seeing a more than expected?

Your Dobs coils should settle over time.

How's your alignment? Are you running larger tires? Do you rub?

 

Alignment is alright, feeling a bit of sway on the rear. Not sure if that needs to ve adjusted further. Running destination at2 285s and no rub at all

 

I would re-measure after putting some miles on it and see if it settles.
