Thoughts on suspension

So I recently posted on everyone’s thoughts on suspension (wore out subject) but I came across some kyb front and rear struts and shock absorbers for 250. Thinking about putting these on with some tundra springs, will this work?

 

Personally, I've never heard of them. My thoughts, speaking from experience... better to do it right the first time than redo with what you wanted to begin with later.. I fell into that trap... fortunately not too deep when I realized...

 

Crazy, I have seen tons of threads on kyb suspensions and using tundra springs on many other types of suspensions

 

KYB has been out for a long time, good shocks.

Can't go wrong with them really if you're just looking to regain that factory ride.

So, why not just use what the 4Runner requires?

What is your end goal?

Your initial post implies that you're replacing your suspension and keeping it factory.

 

From what I hear tundra springs will give it a slight lift not much. Either-way works for me!

 

You will regain the height lost you had when your vehicle was new when replacing your coils front and back.

Yes Tundra springs will raise it even higher than that, but like you said...you want to do it right so why not get something that's made for your 4Runner?

Well, refer back to the other thread as I made a lot of points there...just not with specific information.

OME 880 springs up front which should net a 1" lift; you may as well go with trim packers in the rear with new factory coils because the lowest lift for the rear by OME are 906 springs. Those are supposed to provide 2" and they did when I had them. I've got a pair with less than 4k miles on them and they've been replaced by longer coils.

Tundra springs can lift the front, but will yield roughly 2.5" of height. May as well go with OME 881's which will net you the same lift. Hope this answers your question about Tundra springs.

There is one model 4Runner in which you can purchase springs from, new, which will give you roughly 1" height all around and it's from the Highlander model.

Front passenger spring part number is 48131-35400, driver is 48131-35350, and rears are 48231-35210

I'm thinking the last option is truly your best bet as you want minimal lift.

Ended up going with kyb (red) front and rear shock/ struts with eibach pro lift springs. Think that’s gonna be worth a damn? It’s in my budget and I’m not to hard on a vehicle
