    hi,
so I got a weathertech bumpstep XL for my wife 4runner. it is a standard 2'". It will not go into her hitch, I have a tacoma and it went in fine on my tacoma... as if the 4runner hitch is not 2" at all... it is like off a little... I wanted 2 bumper steps xl but they had 1 and they are ordering me the 2nd one to come in friday. what are you guys thought?

it wont go in on our 4runner... it is the craziest thing ever... maybe I was doing in the cold and on an incline with my driveway. I am waiting another bumpstep to come in... hope it fits.

It is 2", but you are correct. It is off by smidge. I was trying to add my waterport to the hitch and it doesnt fit perfectly. I had to literally hammer it in. Im thinking about bringing my vehicle back to the dealer to replace.

i thinking of just filing it down on the corners... what a pain in the ass. It fits my tacoma fine but not the 4runner... this is mind blowing!!!

I was thinking the same thing, but my issue was not towards the entrance of the hitch it was more in the back of the hitch.

I would be interested to know what you find out with this. I think I recall someone else commenting that a standard two inch hitch insert from an aftermarket place did not fit either.

I would think this would be a standard fitting item. I usually call a place on e trailer.com for trailer items. They seemed knowledgeable. I should inquire on this because I thought of getting that step fro when not using a hitch

they didn't have a solution... best to return it. But I dont want to return it... I want to install it. I might just shave some of the corners to make it fit.
