Aftermarket Wheels

I currently have a set of xd 17" wheels on my 2011 4runner 4wd.

The minus 12 offset is causing issues with proper torquing and fitment and I need to find something closer to factory specs. I despise the look of the TRD wheels and need a 17" or 18" black wheel that has worked for others without spacers or large lifts. My 4runner is leveled and I'm currently running a 265'-70'-17 tire. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the welcome. I don't have a picture to post but my current wheels are the problem. Factory 4runner wheels have plus 12 offset and my current set have minus12 and are causing issues with mounting flush and getting the wheel properly torqued. I'm just looking for others who've used aftermarket wheels with no issues and what they recommend. I'm not opposed to factory wheels but the only ones I've seen in black are the TRD wheels which look terrible in my opinion.

 

Wheel offset has nothing to do with mounting and torquing, per se. The only way offset could affect mounting is if it was so high that the barrel of the wheel or tire was hitting your fender / suspension before the wheel could be mounted on the hub.

Most likely, you have wheels that are not hub-centric, or you are trying to use lug nuts that are not compatible with the wheel.

If the former, hub-centric rings will suffice. For the latter, new correct lugs.

 

My mechanic says it's actually the center caps that XD said to cut notches in so it would fit over the hub. That worked but it caused the wheel not to mount completely flush as a result. I'm just looking for some suggestions for wheels others have used that don't require any modifications for a proper fit.
