I think the OP is the female in question here. Are you offering to be her chivalrous knight?

My ORP came with door edge guards installed. They blend right in, I don’t even notice them. They’ve saved my driver door a few times when opening it too close to a cabinet in my garage.

Are those the black edge guards with adhesive in the channel?

Thanks guys, yes I am going to get a silver ORP and was thinking of getting the silver door guards from factory and also the anodized running boards like what Mr. Mike has on the SR5 picture above. I think it looks nice and hopefully functional in all aspects

This is what I had in the past. I like the looks of it and it was on the low price side at Walmart. It is adjustable and if needed I was able to move it lower too. But I kept it closer to the body for the looks.

(Now I have sliders and my wife is 4' 11". She did complain at the beginning and now she is like "What to do..")

Mine are a gray color. They wrap around the door edge a little. Looks like there’s adhesive holding it on.

My 2020 door edge guards look like that. They are color matched to the paint nicely.

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
I put these steps on for my vertically challenged wife and so far so good. Only complaint is they will catch snow from the road when driving but that's gonna happen to any steps

the steps grip to your shoes pretty well too

I went from the factory Predator steps to some faux slider style that has way more clearance and looks better, but is much worse for getting in or out.

Just put my factory steps on Craigslist last week for $300, but came down with Covid, so took down the ad.

thanks for all the help. One last question for the guys who put on the new lowered running boards. How low in inches are they now. My running boards (tyger) are 17" from the ground at the moment. I would 13" or 14" inch clearance as we don't go rock climbing with our vehicle. Bought it to tow.

they do not make different brackets, perhaps you should try the Limited Running boards they hang lower than the rest there is guy on the forum had the dealer install them by a mistake they use a longer bracket for those Running boards or the ones on the picture above on the whit one they have step to them but i still think maybe at best 15' of the ground mine are 17' on the bottom and 19' on the Top

I will look into the Limited Running boards. I never thought getting into this SUV would be such a pain.

I just went out to measure mine, I am at 19 1/2” from the concrete to bottom of the rocker, but i am lifted 2 1/2” front with 2” springs in the rear. So i would say about 17”s stock would be about right, then the brackets on the running boards should put the step at about 15”s on the ones i posted when you first started this post. I hope this is helpful for you.

Hi SlvrSlug. Thanks so much for measuring your running boards. I think i will go with the ones you posted. Except I can't find where you posted them? Did you mean the Predator ones that someone else mentioned? So much better than some of the other suggestions, i.e. taking a running start? LOL. Please remind me which ones you thought would work.

If you do not take it off road the predators will be your best bet, they have a little bit of a lower step. These are the ones i took off my Runner.

I love my Tyger steps. Had them on my 17 Pro 4runner and removed them and put them on my 2020 Pro. My wife likes them also. Makes it very easy to get in the truck and plenty of room to step on them and not slip off.

12" clearance from ground to bottom, 15" to the top. These will make your life easier too. Pre-pandemic my 78 year old mom was able to climb up in the cab fairly easy. 5" wide step. Sturdy AF.

Smittybilt XRC Side Armor rock sliders worked out great for us. My wife likes them as the perfect step, they were easy to instal (with KDSS) bolt on without drilling, the finish looks good, they offer adequate protection for low speed rock interaction and they were easily available at a good price. The aluminum ones that came on my ORP are flimsy junk, and the ones I put on my Taco with the drop steps have gotten bent up over time.IMG_6914.jpg

We bought a 2018 SR5 that had Tyger steps on it. It looked really good but wasn’t comfortable using to get in and out of the truck. I came across a set of new take-off Predator steps on Craigslist for $300 and got them. My wife wasn’t convinced they would be better until she tried them and now she absolutely loves them. The Predator step is 12” above grade and is tucked under.042200AB-60BD-4143-A8E4-4B6D71635CB6.jpg
