Love my new 4runner. As i am short getting in is a bit of a challenge. Any ideas on how a short person can get in their car easily? Thanks.

    A few ideas ;):

Free option: Run and jump technique recommended by someone else
Cheap cheap option: get a rope to hang down that you can step in like a side step
cheap option: Get a small step stool with a pole to pick it up when you get in.
Middle option: stilts or really tall shoes
    More expensive: side steps
Even more expensive: if you are into off-roading then get rock sliders with 0 degree offset
More more expensive: not an off-roader??? Get the 4Runner lowered
Most expensive: a new car (unless it is a cheap car then this might be a cheaper option)

You could probably use a driver side A pillar grab handle to help hoist yourself up. Like the one on the passenger side.
There’s a guy on the other forum who makes and sells a bracket to enable this. Check out this thread, all the info is there. You buy the bracket from him with the instructions. Then get the handle and hardware from your local Toyota dealer or online parts dealer.
It’s not hard, just need to be precise with cutting and drilling.

Another idea is a solid handle above the driver side window instead of the flimsy folding one. Here’s another mod to install the FJ Cruiser grip handle. I did the T slot nut method at post 22.

Some aftermarket steps have a lower step that hangs down.

You can try like others have said and use the grab handle. There is a kit available to add a grab handle on the A pillar as well.

if Tyger don't work, get OEM. check out the used market. I don't have an exact measurements but it is lower at least 1.5-2 inches. Here pic for reference.

Good idea. The OEM running boards are wide, grippy, and at the right height for my short wife. There’s gotta be a lot of take-offs for sale out there.

I will need a running board also as my Dad is almost 80 and cannot get in without assist. I was thinking of getting the anodized aluminum running board from the factory on the ORP. I am debating on the look though. I had him try the predator step bars on a demo at the dealer and he had a hard time with that. But then again this is for my Dad who is 80 verus someone younger. I keep looking at tons of different pics to decide. The anodized step bar seems solid but I keep questioning does that look cool on a new Silver ORP model? I am not handy to install stuff so I will need it done at factory or dealer.

Not to highjack thread but has anyone got the door edge guards installed from the factory? Like/dislike?
