i blew mine out a few times and still had a wet passenger floor, there was something solid in there that would move out of the way and let the water out but then go back down and block it again

I introduced it to the business end of a coat hanger and nothing came out nor did anything feel wet around it. So kinda odd. Going to monitor closely.

So my sister took her FJ to the dealer for some service, not exactly sure what they're doing but my dad called and asked if 4grand is a ripoff. He told me they are doing 2 wheel bearings and something with the rear diff. And by something I mean they are legitimately quoting 4grand and all they've done is decided they hear a noise in the rear diff, haven't actually diagnosed it at all.

Pretty hilarious, they quoted her without even taking the FJ into the shop area, just drove it around the parking lot and said yep we hear some expensive sounds

You can get new full bearing assemblies from the vendor here, I think he is on this forum. A rear diff master kit is about $285, that's all new bearings, races, seals, pinion shims, everything except gears to fully rebuild the diff. A shop should charge no more than $300 to rebuild the diff, that doesn't include removing it from the housing. I paid a guy $120 to set up my rear diff.

Theres a thread somewhere on T4R about an issue with the sunroof that causes a leak

Yep I was gonna get the wheel bearings through here and have her take it to my buddies dad who will actually be helpful

They're usually pretty good so this is surprising to me

"The Toyota guy says it's $2800 just for parts. Rear diff carrier assembly, snap rings, seals, etc. And, rear wheel bearings. Labor is $850." LOL

What is going on with it? I would take it to someone else for an opinion without mentioning that stealership, before y'all order a bunch of parts.

I'm not up there to actually find out for myself, but I'm guessing theres some broken teeth on the ring gear. I read it was a somewhat common issue on the early 07 FJs

Gotcha. Well if it is the ring gear, then they probably don't need wheel bearings, c clips and seals and blah blah, that's just nonsense.

its ridiculous. I debated spending more on the daystar nitro bump style bump stops JUST to avoid using wheelers.

pull your glovebox and peel back the carpet and pull the entire hose, somethings gotta be up either in the hose or the connection

i pulled it all apart, pulled the hose off and ran water through it. Thinking the blockage is at the port where that hose connects to. Ill blow some air into there and have a bucket ready in case it dumps out.

Also, dont believe that guys shipping nor excuses. Hubs/bearings are fine but the way he conducted my deal was a joke.

He only does front bearings though. For some reason I thought the stealer was quoting all the bearings. The rear bearings are pressed into the brake backing plate on the axle shafts.

Surprisingly stuff like that Wheelers gets out pretty quick. I think I waited almost 2 weeks for my Camburg UCAs though.
