What rack did you end up getting? Usually the bolts that fit in the channels are 4-6mm and you can get them at HD or Lowe's.

Hey @victoryrunner - I know this isn’t a prototyping question, but it may still be relevant here. For an aluminum rack, would you say the crossbars should be able to support a person standing on them? or does the weight up there need to be more evenly distributed across two or more bars?

I ask, because I’d like to be able to climb onto the roofrack, and sit or stand for photography purposes. For reference, I’m about 200lbs.

Thanks, in advance, for any help on the matter.

We have stood in the center of a single crossbar before, there will be a little flex but not much. I wouldn't say having something to distribute the weight is necessary but it would make it easier to walk/stand up there.

Thanks for the reply. I’d been debating racks for a long while with my old Tacoma, and now the debate continues with my 4Runner. I like that Victory’s full-length seems to review well as quite sturdy, despite being no-drill.

Being in Toronto, Canada, our winters are real (not the worst of our country’s winter-experience, but...) and we salt our roads like crazy. No-drill options seem to be the best choice for wanting to avoid the likely-eventual-rust that would come with drilling.

I can understand that we use plenty of salt here in Michigan too.

I'm hoping to order the full rack with light bar cutout from Victory this week. May I please have a coupon code that will work? I'm trying to coordinate a rack install with my friends gobi rack so I would like to order this Friday. Thank you:)

Recently installed the full-length roof rack. Overall I am happy with it. The one change/improvement I think you should make is to increase the width of the slots for the rack bars. I am going to have to customize some brackets for my solar panel because I can make the space between the rack bars wide enough. I see Prinsu has much wider slots. The same applies to my old fuel can holder. I can't make the rack bars wide enough to have the entire mounting plate on top of the bars.

Sorry for the three month reply wait, I don't get on here as often as I'd like. My wife was headhunted to work down here, we came to visit last May, we've never lived in the desert / Southwest, we're empty nesters, and the pay was great. I recently just landed myself a pretty nice job down here as well, and we bought a house 3 weeks ago. Compared to where we used to live in the suburbs of Chicago, it is very inexpensive here. I do like the access to the Gila, the desert around here, and the folks here are actually pretty friendly. We took up mountain biking this summer, and if you look for stuff to do, there is plenty going on, even in the middle of covid.

    @victoryrunner !

I have a question about the KDSS front skid fitment on my application. It’s a little different due to a new product from Treaty Oak offroad. I’m using their KDSS spacer on the front which lowers the passenger “rigid” link about 1.25” to make up for my lift/lean.
The few pictures I’ve seen looks like the width of the skid sits inside the width of the kdss sway bar cylinder/rigid mounts? How far does the skid sit below the sway bar? I’m hoping that I can make it work without or maybe with the diff drop skid spacers I see in your install video?
    Thanks for the info.

I'd recommend using the diff drop spacers on the skid (It may clear without but would have to try to be sure). Here is the passenger side of our GX460. It has the diff drop spacers on the skid and looks like there would be plenty of room.

Seems all that should work for my application. Thank you!

Is there a picture of the top side of the skid? I’m curious if there is additional bracing.

I don't have a photo of the top side. There is no additional bracing on the interior, the bent flanges around the skid act as bracing.

That’s cool. Just curious. This skid seems to fit my needs better than others. Hope to order aluminum version soon.

I didn’t see the option on the website to add the skid spacer kit. Do I just request that in the order details page or something?

I don’t want a diff drop spacer kit. The victory4x4 install video shows a skid plate spacer kit to run the skid with the use of the diff drop kit.

Interesting. The oil filter access is located in a different spot on yours versus the website.

I just went to their site, you are correct, also looks like the piece for under the radiator is built in. I had to use RCI’s piece for mine. Are you going to have it powdercoated? I wanted to mount mine bare, but it took me quite a bit of work to get it to that point.

I hope for some clarification before I order. I don’t want something that may not work for my application. Yes, I would like it power coated.

It's labeled Tundra but this spacer kit will work for your application.

I like the product and am interested in knowing exactly what design I would receive if I ordered a skid plate for 2010+ 4Runner with kdss built out of aluminum. Is the correct product design this one that will be delivered?
Sorry for the confusion, but the skid slvrslug pictured on a 2010+ 4Runner is definitely different than what is represented on victory4x4.com at this time.

No problem! I understand. The photos you shared (the ones currently on the site) are the current production model. Some design changes have been made between now and then.

Crazy fast shipping and the product is great for my application. I used a stack of three washers to space the front down about 1/4” on each side. It’s just enough space to clear the KDSS sway bar with Treaty Oak KDSS spacer kit. There are a few mounting design elements I would change if it were up to me, but still, great product!
