Best way to get a set date is to set up an install if thats feasible for you. What I ended up doing, made a little vacation out of it and did some hiking and biking in Colorado. They had it installed and done in a little over an hour. If you set up an install appt they will have your rack built and powder coated by the date

I was set on getting a Gobi but trying to get any questions or info out of them is impossible. I tried fb and multiple emails and even a vm with not a single reply so I had enough. Ordered Prinsu last Friday that's going to be delivered tomorrow through regular UPS delivery. Is it as nice as Gobi? Prolly not but I will have it on my car ready to go this Saturday. I was fine with the wait. Everything I've ordered for the 4Runner months ago I'm still waiting for and I though the gun industry was bad when it came to wait times lol

Interesting, I sent an email to them yesterday finding out the likelihood of getting it installed while at Toytec. Fingers crossed...

I would call. I got the answering machine once or twice but always ended up getting thru. Had a great experience with the Install. Nice people, you can tell they are swamped. But they got me in and out quick : )

Fortunately, there are lots of other options out there, good ones. But when you have your heart set and your mind made up, only a Gobi can satisfy it. No matter how much you have to endure, that only makes the fantasy greater.

I understand waiting for the rack, I did and I'm very happy with my Gobi rack...but waiting 4 months for a mask?! Good thing it's not really necessary or you'd surly be dead by the time it arrived

funny thing is .. after I completed the order of my rack, I also inquired about the mask. They said they totally $&@% up the mask order. To fix this little, they said they would not only complete the order ASAP but would ship it 2 day express. They told me this last week :-( and still no mask .. lol

Go to Jeff.westcott’s instagram page to see my new roof rack, jeff’s crew just finished and it is fantastic.

I was set on the gobi stealth rack too but I didn't like the fact that my RTT would have to sit on the rails even though it wouldn't be a problem.

19 weeks and 6 days here. I contacted gobi and they said I’m in production. They claim it will ship out by 2nd week of January.

not going to hold my breath :)

Ask for Weston Miller .. he will get you a production date

Well that makes me feel a little better as I'm at 19 weeks and 2 days. I hit them up via the link on their website to get a status update but no word yet.

I’m 15 weeks out and was hoping to get it before my trip to the Big Bend in late February. First world problems though.

23 weeks, 2 days for me. I called yesterday and was told mine would ship in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I'm not going to hold my breathe at this point. Luckily I don't have any trips planned at this point where I'm desperate for a roof rack.

This all seems pretty normal with Gobi. It seems like they could communicate better with their customers. But, it seems like everyone is happy with the product when they finally get it.

As long as you guys are ok with little to no communication from the manufacturer and ridiculous lead times, you will all be satisfied in the end.

Another issue is gobi seems to fill shop orders before individual orders. Shop xyz may bulk order 10 racks after me but they get there stuff first ‍♂️

That's not really cool if it's the case. I understand prioritizing the customers that make you the most money, but they shouldn't skip over the customers that order direct.

I can only make sense of it if they're trying to support their dealers. Maybe they want people to buy from their dealers. :notsure:

I'd really like to see their manufacturing set up. This is what I imagine...

It's almost strange how much they avoid keeping people updated. It's like their mission statement IS to keep people in the dark.

when you say AOB switches, are you referring to the rockers switches that fit into the toyota dash locations or the supplied switches like these?

I reached out to them a few months ago, asked them if they would quote me for just the stealth rack because I wanted to cut it down into a 3/4 rack: no ladder, no rear hatch struts, no silly backpack & no delivery as I'm 10 miles away & would pick up in person
I guess my money is no good as they never responded to any of my 3 email requests
