Anyone on here tried this: Seems easy enough. There may be better plug-n-play tweeters out there, though. The Subaru tweeters seem substantially better.

The two circled bolts (from the other thread)?

Yeah, the bolts on the OEM tweeter were almost like welded. I bent one of the frame/bracket of the OEM tweeter from twisting on it so hard so I gave up on it.

looks like the user on the other thread had tweeters with a different mount/frame than the ones I did. I had them on my old Tacoma and switched them to my 4Runner.

I used this: Genuine Subaru H631SFJ101 Tweeter Kit (1 Pair) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PV6F8I2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_FFu9Fb9JZ2JCA

Got it. The other thread didn't mention any issues with that. I see that you mounted the Subaru tweeter on one side in what was the bracket hole. They must have used purple thread locker...:p

Found this site from a TacomaWorld thread, not much less than Amazon with shipping, but some:

Interested in the swap. Any thoughts on how the Subaru tweeters might compare to the OEM Audio+ tweeters.

All I've read seems to say a noticeable improvement over stock.

Nope, no issues with the bolts at all.

I've got them in my truck! Scored on FB marketplace - used for 6 months and the guy was going OEM Audio+. $25 dropped off at my office! Overall I'm happy with the increase in sound for the price, not sure if I'd spend $100 on them though.

I think for $100 I'd rather modify the brackets and get full components dropped in there.
