Anyone out there using a pedal commander on a 5th gen 4Runner? I hear good things about them but just wanted to see what some of you all think before I order one. My biggest question is would it help when towing. Like will I see and increase in mpg while towing?

It will not improve mpg. Just gives much better throttle response. I love mine.

I towed a 2klb trailer with it and got under 11mpg. So ya probably ain’t gonna see any MPG changes

Hmm. I’ve put about $2000 in my 4runner this week already so I hate to buy anything else unless it will save me money In the long run. Do you think it is worth the $300?

Just installed mine last week and it took no time at all....and it is exactly what has been missing from getting the full enjoyment of driving of my new Venture. I have even seen an improvement in gas mileage while in City mode which I have heard some others experiencing as well. No change in sport or sport+. I think it all depends on how you drive and adjust to the new response. It's definitely a must-do mod in my book!

Pro-tip: They offer a nice discount if you work for a government entity... and if you don't, add your email and let the pedal commander sit in your cart for a few days and they'll send you a discount code. Enjoy!

Alrighty. I’m planning on ordering mine today. If I can fork out some more money I wanna combine it with a CAI and a flow master exhaust.

I installed my Pedal Commander last week- so far I love it! It drives like a completely different vehicle now. (Setting City +3)

It increases the enjoyability to drive the 4R. Thats worth it in my opinion. I use the HikeIt version and its way cheaper.

OK, got mine today and it took longer to figure out how to disconnect the OEM connection than anything else. Once that was disconnected, it was the easiest upgrade ever. AND, I too did not want to be that guy who drove off giggling with glee at the increased responsiveness...but I was. OMG, it's truly like a new ride. Get one!

Installed one over the holidays. While I like the quicker feel.... it seems to down shift a lot more often. It's currently set at City+3. My gas mileage took a bit of a hit as well, down about 1/2 mpg. Any experience and thoughts would be much welcome.

Interesting- I'm using setting City+3 as well and my MPG hasn't taken any sort of hit. Weird that yours is....

All depend on how fast you push that right foot down. When I first installed mine it was very tempting to mash the pedal since the truck actually responded!!

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I have the Sprint Booster and love it. They pretty much work the same and do not claim any change in MPG nor do I notice any on mine, it stayed the same. I have heard of some problems with the PC but not with the SB so that's what I want with. That plus I got a good buy on it lol. I set mine at S5, removed the control and put it in the console. When I have to take it in for the fuel pump recall I'll disconnect it. It's so easy to install that it's not really a problem.
