2014 Limited- Wheel Swap

I would like to swap my 20" Limited wheels and tires for 17"TRD wheels with BFG 265-70-17 KO2's and want to know if I should or have to add a leveling kit. I was thinking that the 3"/1.5" kit ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/130670260417?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT )
would be a good option. I don't want to get a all new suspension and I don't go off road (just snow, and fire roads) Does anybody see any issues with this set up or have any suggestions?

So- if with that leveling kit and the wheels tires listed, should I be able to have no rubbing and no issues with offset or anything? Do I need a specific width on the rim? Could I go wider on the tire (285)?

 

I put the 3"-2" lift and the 17"x7" TRD rims and run the 285/70/17 and have zero issue with clearance. The TRD rims come 17" x 7" factory with the right off set . As long as they are factory TRD not knock off's.

No spacers just factory off set. I did my lift with the bilstien shocks and coils and the ride is great so if you could it is worth it. Remember when you use the spacer kit for your lit you are just compressing your coils and your ride is good but could be better. Non the less they both work you will love it .

 

Well- I got the TRD rims and the BFG tires- I opted for the 6ply 265/70/17. I think that will give me decent MPG and the least amount of road noise.. I have not lifted the front yet (I have the kit) and it bothers me every time I look at it and it is not level...

LOOKS GREAT! I just got a 2016 Limited, I'm looking for slider/steps what brand did you use on your limited? Looks nice.

They are inexpensive but probably will not hold up to off road use, or protect the body of the truck from rocks, etc. Mainly, so my wife can get in the car without showing everybody her panties...

Looks great! I too considered the Pro wheels but went with 17" Method NVs 0 offset w/ 285/65 for more of a stance to my liking. My 5100's/cornfed setup is still boxed up and still debating whether or not to lift since i have no rubbing issues and the im ok with the rake for now.

 

Those wheels and tires look great. Let me know if it helps with road noise. I'm still running the stock 20" limited's and stock tires.

Looks good! I'm in the process of deciding how I'm going to do sliders. Maybe I just need to add the steps like yours and then change it later. I really want the rugged sliders though. So may decisions!

 

Was just looking at these but according to Amazon they don't work for the 2016 4Runner.

 

Road noise is just a bit louder than stock, but not annoying. I still get 16.2MPG (city and freeway mix) which is what I got on stock. I drove in the snow/ice in Tahoe and felt very comfortable- no slipping.
Re- the steps, i have a 2014 and they were an easy install- not sure if the 2016 is different. I believe that trail model and limited model have slightly different mounting points (at least you have to choose which model you have)
