I haven't posted in awhile. The truck has changed a little bit and it's finally seen difficult trails. This was after rug road this past weekend.

Just bought this 2000 4Runner SR5 4x4 with 218k miles. My first 4Runner, or 4x4 of any kind.

I don't know if that was directed at me, but right now I'm looking for the correct Limited/Highlander/Sport bumper for my truck. The flares sticking out like a muffin top is driving me up a wall. Also considered aftermarket bumpers, I really dig the Shrockworks stuff but it's spendy. I'd have more in the bumpers than I have in the truck. Priority #1 is getting the timing belt done.

I love seeing all your 3rd Gens! They're my favorite gen. I got my first one last spring and I've slowly been making it more my style. So it's still very stock. I got some darker tint on the front windows, painted my rear tow hitch black because it was rusted, painted my trim of the trunk and rims (I know some people hate painted rims but its my favorite thing I did :D) and put on a basic grille guard (I don't plan on pulling people so I didnt get the fancier ones, I just love the looks) so thats it so far! Also a good amount of mechanic work because the guy that owned it before me didn't drive it for 2 years and it needed attention. Would love to get a lift someday but I don't even know how to go about that. I'm obviously not a truck tech :p I just love how they look and drive. This thing is a tank! 165k now (bought at 156k). The before is the untinted pictures, and now is the snowy one. Thanks for looking! ^^20151018_154411-2.jpg 20151018_155457.jpg 20151231_155426-2.jpg micronautgirl_2015-06-01_13-10-56.jpg

@irishfury, currently have 117.5K. We indeed have LOW mileage runners. have you done the timing belt yet? I have not. this is my second six figure runner without doing the belt but it is lingering in the back of my mind. In fact I purchased the kit with water pump, idlers n such from rock auto a while back but haven't tackled the install. I have an acquaintance willing to do it for $350 labor but really prefer to do all the work myself. I am thinking of the radiator as well fearing the cross contamination of tranny fluid and coolant.
    cheers,
    willie

Previous owner had the timing belt and water pump done at 91K. My B&M 70268 tranny cooler came from Amazon yesterday. I am planning to install it next weekend.

Honestly I cheated. I bought them already ro go on t4r. They came up for sale already wired up and everything. They were plug and play for me. Look around I'm sure there are write ups on it. It's not hard but time consuming if done right and to last. Use a 35 watt set up. They last longer. Just my opinion
