4runner driver side lean

    hi guys! I recently installed fox 2.0 coilovers with fox 2.0 performance series. Everything fine, it's improving the performance and it's eliminated the nose dive. But I have one concern, there's about half inch height difference from driver side to passenger side, driver side is about 1/2 inch lower. Does anybody here tried to adjust fox 2.0 coilover to more than 2 inches? really appreciated your input guys, thanks a lot!

    Very common among Tacomas, 4Runners, and FJ's. I had to put in a 1/4" driver side spacer to correct on both my Tacoma and 4Runner.

    thanks @Bob and @brochacho for the reply, now i feel much better. I'm planning to adjust the fox coilover to balance the height, I knew that the maximium height is up to 2" but did anybody try adjusting foxcoil 2.0 coilover? I want to add about 1/2 of an inch or maybe just 1/4 inch.

    Bilstein 6112 and 5160 with Bilstein rear coils. SPC UCA s, TRD Pro wheels, Shrockworks sliders, Nitto Ridge Grapplers 265/70/17
    Seems like a set of airbags would solve this problem as you could adjust air on the right and left sides thereby eliminating the sag.

    thanks @OvrlandNoob , airbags would good but i just installed fox coilover, so first option is to adjust the coilover first and i'll try to call fox if can do it.

    Bilstein - OME - Toytec suspension, Iridium plugs.
    I just had the same issue, a 1/4 inch top plate spacer installed in the driver side strut, solved the issue.

    If you can't go up 1/4" on the driver's side then go down 1/4" on the passenger side.

    10mm trim packer / 1/4" spacer is what most people use to correct the lean, though.

    don't know about the fox coil over adjusting procedure .. The 4runner has OEM factory a much stronger spring on the driver side ........ this is to support the vehicles fuel tank load. GM 1500 trucks 2006 and older have torsion bars that can be adjusted to also correct the fuel tank load to keep vehicle level.

    new GM 1500 trucks 2007 and new have coil springs so these owners use spacers on the springs .. or they install after a few years stronger springs and add a spacer to adjust the front end drop and fuel tank issue driver side ..

    if your springs are the same coil diameter then you will have to adjust the driver side to lift it up about 1 inch ... battery is also on driver side as well as when your in the driver seat ..

    look at the oem springs you removed , the coils are smaller diameter..

    1/2" difference from side to side? Probably not even visually noticeable.

    Put your Tape Measure back on the work bench and walk away.

    Adjust the coilover and you will be fine.

    My Icons are adjusted so I got no lean.

    Sorry.. this was a thread revival..

    Confirmed that front springs on most 4Runner models (SR5, Trail, TRD OR, Venture) without KDSS have a different part number for left and right. Also found a photo of older gen. 4Runner springs that clearly shows how one side spring is about 3-4mm taller than the other. I'm trying to confirm for sure that it's still the same with the 5th gen. In case you're curious, the front struts, rear shocks, and rear springs are NOT side specific... so it's just the front springs that are in question.

    But did this fix the rear lean as well? Or did you add a spacer on back left? I have the icon stage 1 setup w/ OEM rear spring (basically just a 1ish lift up front, stock rear) and I have about a half inch of lean on the driver side. I could adjust th front driver to fix that but wondering what to do in the back

    Mine came off the lot with this lean. At first it bothered me a little but now I pay no attention. Pretty common it seems. Drive it and enjoy it!

    yea I find it unnoticeable looking front the front on, but it’s more noticeable to me when looking from the back. The setup is still very new on mine so I’ll give it more time to settle up front before I adjust anything.

    I keep about 100 to 200lbs of recovery gear on the rear passenger side. Evens out the lean.

    Do you have KDSS?

    I'd adjust the front, and it might fix it in the rear, too. The driver's side should be raised a few mm via the perch.

    yes, I’ve got the KDSS. I’ve seen a few instances where people try to adjust the KDSS but I think that is too involved for just a 1/2” difference. Ok thanks for the advice, I’ll adjust that front driver side coil over up a bit and see how that does for the rear.

    I'm in the process of buying a new front suspension, and the manufacturer of the new coilovers, suggests different setting for the driver and passenger sides.
