Vandalism::: sugar inside gas tank..!

As u all knows the 2020 4Runner doesn’t have a fuelcap with lock and some nasty people put sugar in my gas tank ..! Very easily came and ruined my car ..! In order to avoid this is there any option are there...? Pls let me know..! Also I am planning to put a front ,rear and side viewing camera inside my car,so any recommendations for a specific dash camera also invited..! Pls help me guys..! It’s really heartbreaking,I don’t really want to happen it agin ..! Pls help me with some solutions...!

 

That's low! Screwing with someone's vehicle is equivalent to.... well it's low! The camera is probably a good thing, I have no real suggestions on camera, just catch 'em!

Save the money, cameras are pointless.

Prevention is the idea here, not getting a video of the blurry perpetrators vandalizing your shit.

Locking gas cap, garage parking or well lit and shrubbery free parking if you have to park outside.

Sugar in the gas ain't random. What'd you do? Or what does someone think you did? And who is that someone?

 

I think there's an exemption if you are wearing number 3 while doing number 2 in number 1.

Somebody has a hard-on for you.
On your driveway? Street parking? Any other neighbors have these issues? Were you the only targeted?
Cameras will only help with an insurance claim for vandalism.
With that being said, SUGAR DOES NOT DISSOLVE IN GASOLINE. If you add it to gasoline, it stays in granular form.

So sugar wont work, not even sand. You know what would work to f$#ck with a man's vehicle? Fill that bad boy with water.

Sorry to see this. Reminds me of high school pranks years ago. So childish! Yes I would get a locking gas cap. I used to use them years ago in my high school days, never as a grown adult would I think I need to now

I would have to agree with others on here. Someone targeted you for whatever reason. Dig back and think who could it have possibly been. Also get a locking gas cap.

I bet it's random. It's probably jealousy. Keying is the same thing.. always just BS (probably jealousy) and rarely deserved.

You say it ruined your truck.. really? Looks like the fuel pump sock did a good job, but did any sugar make it through? I have no idea if sugar is soluble in gasoline... hopefully not!

If all you had to do is drop and clean your tank and fuel pump, your truck is far from ruined and I'd rather that than to have my car keyed (which has happened before)! But I understand that is a nightmare, especially on your brand new baby. I hope that you somehow catch the perpetrator.. an eye for an eye in my book. Break their legs I say. Cowardly trash!

Unfortunately there is no prevention for this as a whole. The only thing you can do is prevent them from messing with your fuel via a locking cap. But there is no way to prevent someone from messing with your things at all times. So move to a decent area is about all I've got.. but shit still happens because there is a vast swatch of personalities out there.. #beinghuman.

I've been in your shoes before and, if you're like me, it's tough. My best advice is to just move on and forget about it. This stuff just happens, and for no good reason.

 

You should take it off road more and just get Pin stripes from front to back. That ensures no one ever wants to waste the time keying it again.

It was my Bimmer that was keyed, right outside of my condo in the private parking lot.

I've also had someone slash the roof of my Boxster up, trying to get inside. They failed, but it still left me with a multi-thousand dollar bill.

Apparently this is what I get for living in like #2 of America's most dangerous cities...
