I reside on the 2nd Gen Tacoma side of things but my wife will be getting a 4Runner this spring. Unfortunately she doesn't like the 'big mouth' appearance of the bumper on the SR5 and Trail Edition...trivial I know.

The question is, and it seems like it could be done, will the front facia from the Limited fit on the SR5 or Trail Edition 4Runner? I'm assuming it would require purchasing the bumper and grill from the Limited.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help folks.

Too many mods and too much money
There have been people over at T4R.org that have done the reverse of what you want to do. They do a LOT of mods. One guy put the trail trim on an SR5 I think. It might depend on different model yrs. Do a search in the Google bar on the site and do some research before you post any questions though. They don't take kindly to thread hijackers lol.

I pick up my new 2016 Limited tomorrow. While in the Dealer's lot the front bumper plastic was clipped by a snow plow and tore. The dealer is going to replace it no problem. I've asked them to replace it with a Trail Edition bumper. I don't like the fake chrome look. Also the SR5 and Trail bumper are a little higher off the ground. They said it shouldn't be a problem, but will have to drill holes for the parking sensors. We'll see how it goes.

Just an update on my last post. The dealers' body shop tried to replace the Limited Edition bumper with an Trail bumper. They said that they couldn't get it to line up properly and that some of the mounting brackets on the Limited wouldn't work with the Trail bumper, so they gave up and are now just putting on a new Trail Edition bumper to replace the damaged one. Oh well.

Willing to bet if they gave you the bumper you could figure it out. Dealers don't know anything about their cars...

When talking to half of them I feel like I'm the one selling the car.

Agree. They gave it a shot. Not sure how hard they tried to make it work.
